Signal transmission over distance using light

How can signals be transmitted from one place to another using light?

Components:
1.s1815 transistor. (Any NPN transistor will work)
2. LED or laser.
3. Capacitor 10 and 100 Mkf.
4. Two 1K resistors.
5. Resistors 50 and 100 ohms.
6. The switch.
7. Potentiometer 10Kohm.
8. Headphone Jack.
9. Layout

Receiver:

Note:
There are computer speakers, a receiver is not needed. It is necessary to supplement with an LED or a solar battery from an old calculator.
1. Two C1815 or 2N2222 transistors.
2. Photo diode or solar battery
3. Resistors 1K and 10K.
4. Capacitor 1uF.
5. The speaker.

Putting the transmitter together:

Installation is simple. Just follow the pattern. The C1815 transistor is used here, but you can use any NPN transistor, observing the pinout according to the circuit. The power of the circuit is 5V - 7V, depending on what you use (laser or LED).

After the circuit is ready. We look, if the light is on, then turn the potentiometer to check how the light intensity changes. If everything is in order and you can proceed to the next step.

Receiver:

Signal transmission over distance using light

If you don’t have a computer speaker or want to make it yourself, you can follow the diagram above to make a simple audio amplifier.

If you have speakers, then just use the Audio connector "mother" and connect it with two wires to the solar panel or photodiode and connect the speaker.
Testing

Once the transmitter and receiver are designed, simply plug any player or mobile phone into the headphone jack and turn on the music. Use the potentiometer to adjust the brightness of the LED. If it blinks, it means that the sound is converted to a digital signal and transmitted through the light.

Now just place the photodiode near the LED, and you will hear the music that is playing in the speakers. Adjust the brightness of the LED to get a clearer sound. Use a laser to transmit over long distances.

Good luck! Experiment.
