Stop motion is a technique in which you take a lot of photos of moving objects. In each next image, the object is in a different place, so when you are shown the photographs one by one, you get an animation.
To get started, you just need any type of camera. It can be a SLR, it can be a telephone, in fact, using a telephone will be much easier to create than using a professional camera, because you can download many free applications for your smartphone that will allow you not only to take photos, but also preview your work. Such applications also have some built-in post-processing tools.
Take a notepad, think what you want to animate and write a script.
Stop-technique of movements makes it possible to use something completely different from its purpose. For example, you can use red electrical tape as a pizza sauce, as in the picture above. You can pretend that you are smearing the tape like a liquid.
