How to make a simple do-it-yourself corrugated cardboard trap game

Good day to all dear friends! In today's article, I would like to show you a rather interesting idea on how to make a good and funny toy do it yourself. I think many people know about the very popular at one time Chinese toy, a small crocodile with a wide mouth, which can open and close.

This is a kind of cunning trap, something similar to a mousetrap. When you put his hand in his mouth and accidentally press a tooth, his mouth closes, it is certainly safe, but it may surprise you quite well. This homemade It works almost on the same principle, but the mouth of this crocodile will be slammed shut when something gives into its “tongue”. This homemade product is made of material quite well-known at the moment, of corrugated cardboard, its charm is that it can be used in almost any homemade product. Somehow I even did an article on how to make an ice cream machine out of corrugated cardboard. Also an important component of this homemade product is ordinary ice cream sticks, in some stores they are even given free of charge when buying ice cream.
In general, we will not pull, the homemade product is very interesting, let's go!

In order to make a trap in the form of a jaws of a crocodile we need:
-of course corrugated cardboard
ice cream sticks
office gum
-paper tape
-tubules for cocktails
toothpicks
-paper

From the tools you will also need:
-therm glue
-Super glue
nippers
-scissors
-stationery knife

First of all, you need to draw two halves of the crocodile’s mouth on a sheet of corrugated cardboard, all sizes can be seen below in the photo:

Then you need to apply paper tape, or some other white, not wide ribbon, as shown in the photo:

After that, draw a marker with red lines on the sides of this line:

And now you need to cut out the teeth for our crocodile with the help of a stationery knife, it is also necessary to cut all both parts, if there are difficulties, then just do as shown in the photo below:

The resulting workpieces must be bent along the contour, so that the jaw halves are obtained:

From the corrugated cardboard, we cut out two rectangles, after which we glue the previous blanks to these rectangles with the help of a term of glue, or super glue, then check the resulting blanks. To check, just put both parts on top of each other and see if the “teeth” fit together exactly:

Now we need three segments of sticks from the ice cream, two large, equal in length and one shorter than the first. You also need to cut out another rectangle from cardboard, its dimensions are in the photo below.
Then we glue the cardboard rectangle to the back of one of the jaws, and on this rectangle we glue the pieces of ice cream sticks as shown in the photo below:

Glue another large segment of sticks from ice cream on the middle small segment, so that it is directed upwards relative to this jaw:

On the side of this design, we make a small through hole with a toothpick or an awl. Then we insert a toothpick there and on this toothpick we put on each side also along the segment of the stick from the ice cream, with holes made in advance for this. On the sides of the ice cream sticks and toothpicks we fix the term with glue, but so that the structure itself can move up and down. Glue the other end of the ice cream sticks to the other jaw, the same must be done on the other side:

Now we cut and grind eight parts from the ice cream sticks, their shape can be seen in the photo below. We also need one toothpick.
After manufacturing all the parts, they need to be glued into one part, it should look like a small lever with a grip, on the stand, if something is not clear, you can see the photo below, by the way, this lever should move up and down:

Glue the part that we did earlier on the lower part of the structure:

We again take the ice cream sticks, cut four parts out of them and glue them into a single part, it is necessary to glue so that it turns out
a rectangle, but one side of it should be glued with a narrow side to two other sides. Also on the two longest sides you need to make markings with a pencil or a marker:

Next to the side that is glued with a narrow side, glue the cocktail tube, parallel to the same side:

This blank must be placed inside the mouth of the crocodile, and then inserted into the cocktail tube, a toothpick, thereby fixing this part inside. Then you need to stretch the clerical gum as shown in the photo:

We cut and glue the red cardboard rectangle onto the construction that we did earlier, this is a kind of “tongue” of the crocodile:

Decorate by adding eyes, nose and eyebrows:

That's it! A simple trap is almost ready and it remains only to test it. To do this, we move the upper part of the "jaw" back, so that it snaps on the lever and locks in this position, then we simply throw some small but heavy object onto the "tongue". After that, the crocodile’s mouth will slam shut, the same thing will happen if you press your finger in the same place, and since the “teeth” of this trap are made of cardboard, they will not bring harm. But I would recommend not giving this toy to young children. She is, in fact, for the entertainment of her adult friends. As for me, she is pretty simple and fun.
