A rack for storage of 4 bicycles. Production without a welding machine

Each of us is a cyclist in our souls. To a greater or lesser extent, but bicycles always present in our lives. This article is about how to store bicycles in the garage with limited space. I will say right away that the idea of making a bicycle storage rack has been spinning in my head for a couple of years, but all that time is gone, then my hands do not reach. But in fact it turned out that making it very easy and simple in one evening. Having in my arsenal a basic set of tools, I decided to make a rack for storing bicycles without using a welding machine. Not everyone in the garage has a welder or the ability to use it. Therefore, already at the beginning of the work, I thought over the design that can be made with simple tools, lightweight, durable and not expensive. If you don’t have time to read this article, you can watch the whole process in this short video:

I needed the following materials:
Profile pipe 25X25X1.5 mm, wall profile for drywall, M10 and M6 studs, nuts, screws, paint. Wheels for racks bought in the store.

So, first of all, I estimated the height of the bikes and the height of the installation of the second floor of the mount, taking into account the existing bikes. From here came the total rack height - plus / minus 1600 mm.

The length of the rack should slightly exceed the distance between the wheels of the bicycle. The width was established experimentally: since it was necessary to save more space in the garage, I shortened the width until the rack was stable on the floor. The distance between the wheels was 500 mm. This is enough to stand firmly on a flat surface without a chance to tumble.
He began by bending the pipe with the letter “P”.

For bending, I used my cold forging machine, but you can bend it in any other way, since this pipe size is bent by the strength of one average person like me. The main thing is to find a good focus and turn your wit.

Legs in the amount of 4 pieces arched in the same way.

Further, everything is simple: I screwed the wheels to my legs, I screwed my legs to the letter “P”, I also put down the crossbar below for structural rigidity.

Connections were made using M10 studs and nuts.

He painted everything from ferrous metal with quick-drying paint.
The next stage is the shelf on which the bikes will be installed. At first I thought of choosing a suitable channel, but the channel is expensive and heavy. Therefore, the idea came to replace it with a profile for drywall. It is lightweight, cheap, galvanized and just under the width of the bicycle wheels.

The profile was screwed with self-tapping screws: the lower floor is directly on the legs of the rack, the second floor is screwed on the stands.

Everything, the rack for storing four bicycles is ready! Bicycles are mounted on wheels on the profile and fixed with rubber bands with hooks.

The rack for 4 bicycles really takes place, as for one bike. It is also convenient to move it as needed. You can immediately take all 4 bicycles to the street, and not one at a time, as it was before.

Thanks for the tip and comment. Although the stance is stable enough, a car is parked nearby, so yes, I will fix it with an additional fixator to prevent it from tipping over.
Extremely simple, in this case it means - excellent!
As an improvement, I would suggest on the wall in the place of permanent placement of the rack to make a tipping lock installed at the level of the upper shelf. It can be the simplest: a section of the profile, bolted to the bracket so that in the inoperative state it reclines against the wall, and in the worker, clings to the shelf.
