Today I decided to make a fishing rod in order to go fishing and catch fish !!! This rod is easy to manufacture. All materials can be found easily if you are in any village.

Materials:
1. Branch (I immediately took the whole tree).

2. Electrical tape.
3. Aluminum wire (preferably larger).
4. Tube (from any material with a diameter of about 10 mm) (I just took the old door handle).

Instruments:
1. Hacksaw
2. Ax
3. Knife
4. Scissors
5. Pencil and ruler
6. Vise
7. Pliers
8. Nippers.

Well, if you have everything, then you can start.

1.Step. First, as they found a suitable branch, it must be rid of knots and sanded.




2.Step. Then we align the ends of the branches with a hacksaw.

Let our fishing rod dry up for now, and for now we will start to make guides for fishing line.

3.Step. When you find a suitable tube, immediately insert it into the vise and start making guides.
First you need to slightly release the edge of the wire for the tube and then make two skeins in a circle of the tube. And so you need to do 6 pieces.



4.Step. After I made the blanks for the guides, now they need to be completed. (See photo).






When the branch is dry and all the guides are ready, we begin to collect the rod.

5.Step. I measured the distance for the handle so that it was convenient to hold the fishing rod (I got this distance about 80 cm), then we retreat from the line 40 cm and attach the first guide, then we attach the second also at a distance of 40 cm from the first and so on everyone else. I attached the guides to the electrical tape very tightly.




That's all the fishing rod is ready, now it remains only to attach a reel and go to catch the cabin !!!

Only a fishing line with a hook, with a sinker and a float. Wound on a stick (along). And already on the shore, a dried rod is sought. Retreating from the end (~ 0.5m), the end of the fishing line is tied to the rod (found). If the tip breaks, the fish will still not go away. Will be pulled out. There were no rings with electrical tape ... The hook was appreciated for swallowing. The smallest ... and the minnow takes. Then it came to understand that you need larger hooks for large fish, because a large one breaks (sometimes). Ehh

The cork still needed to be found !!! And as I, for example, lived in a village, the word "wine" meant that it was closed with a simple plastic cork)))). A "cork stopper" was closed only "dry sour", which no one buys - there are almost no degrees there, why do you transfer money in vain!))))).
We made floats from goose feathers! They dyed with paint, which was prepared from the paste pasted out from the core and glue BF. A ring of thin copper wire was screwed below, and two rings of rubber were worn on the float itself - a "nipple" tube was cut into rings. (And then the great ones switched to spools and with that became straining))))
Particularly advanced were considered "two-knee and three-knee" - folding fishing rods of two and three pieces, respectively! The connection was made using metal tubes. As a rule, they were extracted from old bicycles - from pedals (there are ready), from the front wheel hubs (you need to saw))), and thicker ones - from the saddle support pipe.
The handle must be wrapped with electrical tape! Then we still did not know about the sacred meaning of blue, and therefore, like fools, we tried to get black or red ... But it was possible to units of hundreds!))) The rest - BLUE !!!!
.. And yes ... Dmitry is right - only hazel (hazel). Light and strong !!!
And then you can cut out your name and an inimitable pattern on the bark !!! )))

Perhaps you wrote this article for the Next generation, which they won’t be able to make a fishing rod without instructions from the Internet (judging by the frills in the form of guide rings and the supposed installation of a coil), but I assure you, they will buy faster than they will do something. Everything was simpler with us, two small nails were driven into the rod, on which the fishing line was wound. Without any rings, the fishing line at the end of the rod was fixed with a knotted knot, the float was made from a wine cork, pierced with a match, and a sinker made of shot or lead from the battery. Only hooks and fishing line were bought.
In any case, thanks for the childhood memories.
