Before you begin, prepare the tools and additional materials you may need. It is better to do this in advance, and not in the process of working on the craft.
From tools and fixtures you will need:
- small desktop vise (preferably also manual);
- hacksaws for wood of two types (large and small with small teeth), a hacksaw for metal;
- penknife, knife cutter;
- tourist hatchet small;
- a small planer;
- file (triangular) and a set of files;
- small hand rot;
- an electric drill and a set of drills;
- ordinary sewed and curved sewed;
- electric soldering iron;
- a jigsaw and nail files (for wood and metal No. 1 and 2);
- pliers (pliers) and nippers;
- tweezers;
- glue maker;
- compass;
- needles of different sizes.
For the manufacture of craftspresented in this book, you will need the following additional materials:
- joiner's glue, PVA or "Moment";
- colorless alcohol varnish;
- bristle brushes - for glue and hair - for varnish, brushes of different numbers for paints;
- paints: gouache, tempera, watercolor; aniline dyes (for fabric); zinc white;
- chalk (in powder);
- river sand (fine, sifted);
- wire from various materials of different thicknesses;
- pieces of plexiglass of different thicknesses;
- plywood with a thickness of 2 to 6 mm;
- cardboard is thin and thick;
- color paper (preferably glossy), white paper (writing), whatman paper;
- carbon paper and tracing paper;
- threads colored (ordinary) and floss, stern threads;
- electrical tape, adhesive tape;
- simple pencils of medium hardness and felt-tip pens;
- erasers;
- rulers and squares;
- round bricks of birch, pine or oak;
- skin (large, medium and small);
- brushes and rags for cleaning dust, shavings, sawdust and rubbing the tool;
- paper clips (large and small);
- clothes pegs.
