Wood residual bedside table

Wood residual bedside table

In this article, we will consider how the Master made a bedside table from wood residues.
Old furniture you don’t always need to throw it out or sell it, often you can make something beautiful out of it, such as such a bedside table. The bedside table is made of another old bedside table, which used to stand by the master in the bathroom (see photo below). In this instruction, the master will show how he reconstructed it, disassembled it, put in a little gloss, added new parts from wood waste. What happened in the end, you see in the photo.
Step 1: Restoration

The original cabinet, from which the bedside table will be made, is apparently made of cheap materials, and decently frayed by time. On the case there are chips, scratches, somewhere even holes.

So the first thing you need to do is put it in order. Rinse thoroughly, remove the drawers, and add screws in the weak points of the case. If you really need it, you can replace some of the sides of the cabinet, as the master did.

Holes from nails and chips need to be covered with putty, and lightly sanded. If desired, paint the restored cabinet in the desired color.

Step 2: Top
The master made the top of the nightstand from two pine boards. As can be seen from the photo, the master planted the boards on the glue and clamped it with a vice until the glue seized. There is no need to feel sorry for the glue, even if it is better that it comes out when it dries, it can be cut and sanded.

Step 3: making the boxes
You most likely already removed the boxes from the original nightstand at the previous stages, but if not yet, then now is the time. If you do not have drawers, but there are doors, we also remove them.

We chop wood residues into blocks of equal length. The length is selected according to the width of the cabinet. Next, we fix the resulting pieces on the front side of the boxes. To maintain symmetry, the master placed a center line on each bar and on the boxes, after which he aligned them along this line. The bars are attached to nails and glue.

The master made a pen out of a small bar - the blue color contrasts excellently with a dark tree.

Step 4: Feet
Legs, this is a small but important part. You can make them yourself, you can buy them in a store, but they should be interesting, with a little twist that contributes to the overall appearance of the nightstand. The more such small original things in the final product, the more it looks like an interesting piece of furniture (yes there, art :), and not just as a functional thing.

The master made the legs of oak plank pallet. Most pallets are made from hardwood to withstand heavy loads. The size of the legs is about 10 cm. The shape of the legs can be any, I made canonical - thereby adding a twist, about which I wrote above.

The bedside table is ready

Are you Vladimir Rybin?
If not, then why the hell ( yes ) Have you torn the text unchanged? This is called plagiarism.
As from the cartoon "What the hell do you want," when the Pakhomovs boasted of finishing the piano with the signature croaker.
