There is such an option tricycle. The wheels do not turn, they turn like a tank, that is, by braking one of the wheels.

What are the disadvantages?

Brake pads wear out faster
Passability is a little lower, since only one wheel is rowed (there are two-wheel drive wheels with rear-wheel drive at once)

How will he behave through mud, off-road? Will the load pull 100 kilograms?

I have tires with a good mud projector, all 3. Each tire can support 90 kg (as it is written on them). The rims are aluminum.

Behind the child seat is screwed high (above the wheel) with a child of about 5. The swivel joint is most efficiently positioned directly at the front axle. If you push the axis forward (as you did, as far as I understand), then the “reverse blows” from the wheels will increase, and the steering wheel will become more difficult. If the axis is shifted back, then the steering wheel rotation will again be much more difficult, because the wheels will have to be “shifted to the side” when turning.
Imagine a steering wheel turning in place:
Only if the location of the hinge falls into the center of the controlled axis, the wheels simply roll when turning (“outer” - forward, “inner” - back. )).
If the axis is moved forward or backward, then the wheels will also have to "row sideways".
In motion, all of these points change slightly:
With the "front axle", the "inner" wheel when turning will simply travel a shorter distance than the "outer" one.
But if the axle is behind, this is not possible! After all, both wheels HAVE ALREADY PASSED this equal distance, and now you have to "stupidly" stupidly shift to the side, raking it sideways with the ground!
