Three-dimensional chess

Let's first understand what three-dimensional chess is. Three-dimensional chess first appeared in an episode of the series Star Trek (Star Track).
Three-dimensional chess

Then this game passed from the film to life. Three-dimensional chessboards appeared. Rules have been developed. And, although they have fewer admirers than classical chess, they also found their niche.

The master made a certain analogue of three-dimensional chess. Chess made by him, in addition to its main function, is not an ordinary interior decoration. Such an item will surely arouse increased interest of guests.

Tools and materials:
-Wood (branches, chumps);
-Plywood;
-Thin copper sheet;
-Fasteners;
- Putty;
- Joiner's glue;
-Wax;
-Saw;
-Knife;
-Chisel;
- Clamps;
- mallet;
-Rasp;
-Sandpaper;
- Electric jigsaw;
-Drill;
- Burnout;
-Burner;
-Hammer;
- Scissors for metal;
-Punch;
-Toothbrush;

Step One: Material Procurement
Any work begins with the procurement of material. So the master in the forest found a suitable branch and a log block.

Step Two: Preparation
Cleans bark from branches. Fit to size.

It also removes the bark from the log block, cuts to the desired size and sanders.

Step Three: Branch Processing
Four playing fields will be fixed on the branch. For their fastening, a master on a branch in four places makes supporting platforms. Then he sanders a branch.

Step Four: Playing Fields
First, the master made cardboard patterns.

Then, the template cuts four blanks of the playing field.

Drills and processes mounting holes.

Handles sandpaper.

Step Five: Installing a Branch on a Support
In chock drills a fixing hole.

Apply glue to the surface and screw the branch to the support.

Step Six: Chess Cages
On cut game fields, now you need to apply cells. Framing the master makes a burner, and dark cells a burner.

It cleans the surface with sandpaper, removes the remaining wood from the surface.

Seventh step: setting up playing fields
Fixes playing fields on a branch. Fixes them with glue and screws. Balls master uses instead of level.

Fills the cracks with putty.

Here is a game space.

But that is not all.Now the master will have to decorate everything and make chess pieces.

Step Eight: Copper Parts
Three round billets are cut from a copper sheet. He makes three parts from them, as in the photo.

To give copper beautiful color shades, the master heats the parts with a burner.

Sets parts to their intended place.

For the lower part, the master makes a decoration from a copper strip. The manufacturing steps are the same.

Replaces it.

Step Nine: Wax
Covers copper and wood parts with wax.

Step Ten: Chess Pieces
The master approached the manufacture of chess pieces unusually. White figures are made of birch, and black figures are made of oak. The master simply chopped small blocks. To mark the figures, the master made copper signs corresponding to each figure. In the photo below, all stages of the manufacture of signs are perfectly visible.

These are the figures that came out.

Unusual three-dimensional chess is ready.

The original game and a good decoration of the interior.

Good job, with a soul!
It’s not ethical to discuss how the subject of decor is, but like chess, and even three-dimensional .... the author should at least get acquainted with the principle of the game. He’s not too lazy, google “three-dimensional chess”, it’s definitely not them.
