The master’s wife gives private piano lessons. When playing the instrument, proper fit is important. But the fact is that each student has his own height and putting up a bench at one level for all does not work. To solve the problem, there are several options: use leg supports, buy a special jack for height adjustment, buy a bench with pneumatic adjustment. The last two options for the road, and the first and second are not yet convenient. Upon reflection, the master came to the conclusion that he could make such a bench on his own.

Step One: Project
The wizard began with the development of the project. According to the project, the legs of the bench are made of several layers of MDF. Inside the legs there is a cavity for installing shock absorbers. Between the legs connects the crossbar. The seat is mounted on top.

Step Two: CNC
Next, the master cuts the details on the CNC machine.
Step three: gluing the legs
Before gluing the parts, the master folds them in the right order and tries on how the shock absorber enters the cavity. Everything is fine and the master proceeds to gluing the parts. For bonding applies wood glue. The glued legs are clamped with clamps and left for 48 hours.
Step Four: Grinding
After gluing the legs, the master makes a rough grinding and adjusting the seat.
Now you need to carefully grind the details. The master wants the bench to match the piano (as one set). Grinds parts with sandpaper with grit from 220 to 320.After grinding, glues the legs with the crossbar.
Step Five: Cover
Staining was carried out in a spray booth. The master covered the legs in several layers with grinding. The first layer of aerosol epoxy enamel is green. Then it dried for twelve hours at twenty-five degrees.
After the paint dries, longitudinal stripes are visible at the junctions of the parts.
It polishes 320 with sandpaper and again covers with a green epoxy.
After drying, it polishes the surface again and now covers it with a black epoxy spray.
And again polishes 400 with sandpaper and covers with the last layer of black epoxy. Leaves for two days.
After drying, applies shellac in several layers. Sand between 600-800 sandpaper between layers.
Step Six: Install Shock Absorbers
Installs shock absorbers in the leg cavity. He closes the holes with decorative caps (the master purchased them in the plumbing department).
Now you need to make a common shock absorber control lever. The master removes the plastic handles. On metal levers cuts the thread. Drills holes in the profile pipe. Connects both levers with a pipe. Fixes connections with nuts.
Seventh step: seat
First, the master makes a box and sheathes it with vinyl. Vinyl is glued with spray glue.
Cut plywood to size. Foam is attached to the plywood and foam is on top. The foam is marked with places for the installation of buttons. Drill holes.
Then the master temporarily fixes vinyl on the seat and sews buttons. The ends of the threads are fixed on the back of the seat with a stapler.
Then it tucks the edge of the vinyl and cuts the corners of the foam. Attaches the edges of the vinyl permanently. Then installs the seat on the frame and fixes.
It remains to fix the seat on the legs and you're done.
