The crutch is old and rusty, so the master clamps it in a vise and polishes it with an angle grinder. Then grinds on a belt grinding machine.
Step Two: Eye
Marks a place under the eye.
Drill a hole.
Handles the eye with a file.
Step Three: Cutting
Cuts off part of the crutch.
Step Four: Pen
A handle is made from a bar.
He puts a hammer on the handle and checks the fit.
Step Five: Wedge
Cut the wedge to size. He makes a cut in the pen. Places a hammer on the handle. Lubricates the wedge with glue and clogs into the seat. Then saws off the excess part of the wedge.
Handles the handle with three layers of Danish oil.
The crutch hammer is ready. From the second half of the crutch, the master made another hammer.
The whole process of making a hammer from a railway crutch can be seen in the video.
