This article will be interesting to fans to make unusual gifts, or save money. In it, the author of the PatonHaus YouTube channel will show you how to quickly make an original gift in the form of a box, a piggy bank with a protective valve, from simple and affordable materials.
This homemade product is very simple in execution and does not require special skills. The necessary tool is also not complicated, it can be made even with a simple hacksaw and screwdriver.
Materials
- Trimming boards
- Joiner's glue or PVA
- Wood screw
- Scrap flexible plastic
- Spray paint.
Instruments, used by the author.
- A circular saw
- Screwdriver
- Neiler (he's a nail gun)
- milling cutter
- Ruler, pencil, marker
- Clamps, screwdriver
- Stationery knife
- Sandpaper
- Rag, rubber gloves.
Manufacturing process.
To begin with, the author forms several squares from the board using a circular saw. These will be the walls, bottom and cover of the body.
Then it wipes the ends of the workpieces with sandpaper.
On the inner side of the future cover marks the selection for milling. At this point, a safety valve and a slot for coins will be located.
Selects the milling cutter according to the layout.
On the outside of the cover marks the place of the future gap.
As a guide for the milling cutter uses an even bar. It fixes the cover on the table, pressing it and the guide using a clamp. Sawing a gap.
Cleans the slot with sandpaper.
Then the valve is cut out of the plastic cover and adjusted to the required size.
Tries the valve to bend from two sides.
It is stained with a black marker in several layers, this is necessary so that the valve is not visible through the slot.
Fixes the valve with a self-tapping screw.
The coin goes fine.
The author proceeds to gluing the case, smearing the ends with glue. Additionally fixes with carnations using a neiler.
Finishes assembling the box by installing the lid.
Places where holes from the nails are visible, wipes with glue with sawdust.
Having wrapped a whetstone with sandpaper, it erases all sides of the box. Radius cutter handles faces.
Now just sandpaper (without a bar) polishes the edges.
The author proceeds to paint the sides. Apply spray paint to a rag and rubs the paint.
The milled gap is visible, it is painted over with a marker.
After drying, the paint overwrites the surface again. This action "ages" the box.
Here the piggy bank is ready, you can donate by first tossing a coin.
Thanks to the author for the original gift idea.
Good mood to you all!
