Do-it-yourself fixture for fast and high-quality sharpening of the band saw blade

Hello dear readers and the inhabitants of our site!
In this article, John, the author of YouTube channel "John Heisz - I Build It" will tell you

The author offers you one of the simple and quick options for sharpening a band saw blade. Moreover, the blade does not even have to be removed in this case! The master does this procedure as if by chance, in between work. It took just 10 minutes to grind this blade, which is about 120 inches long. There are about 3 prongs per inch. The author notes that this method is most likely not applicable for blades with smaller teeth, for example, 10-12 per inch. That is, you can also sharpen such a blade, but it will be too tiring.

Actually device in work.

Materials
- Sheet plywood 12-14 mm in thickness
- Board
- Wooden blocks
- Tin strip
- Wood screws
- Dremel.

Instruments, used by the author.
- Band-saw
- A screwdriver.

Manufacturing process.
This simple device supports the dremel just at the right angle, the angle can be adjusted / adjusted by loosening these two screws a little and turning the device slightly, exposing to the desired angle.

The emphasis is set in this way and fixed in this place. And the rest of the design is installed on the stop, clearly in the middle of the blade. Then the master pushes the device forward and directs it so that it is constantly at right angles to the blade.

The author quickly disassembles the design to show how it is made. He completely unscrews these two screws that pass through a strip of metal and are screwed into a wooden block. (The author even earlier cut this plate out of metal and drilled two holes for these screws in it). This metal part attracts the dremel to the structure, and the wooden blocks hold the tool in place.

Next, the author takes a wooden block and bolts a half-inch plywood to it from the bottom. This should become a platform for dremel.

Then he imposes a dremel and fixes it on the panel, having previously set the desired angle. Next, John installs wooden blocks, after which he makes the final adjustment of the angle of the dremel.

Those readers who are interested in this device can go through this link, or in the description of the video. There they will find the necessary overall dimensions of the product.

And now the sharpness test of the blade. Before you is a maple board six inches thick. And here is how a band saw handles it - it comes in like clockwork!

And now the author takes something thicker - spruce wood. And the blade just as easily passes through it! Fantasy! Try to sharpen your band saw do it yourself!

Thanks to John for the presented sharpening device!

Good luck to everyone, good mood and sharp instruments!
