This article will be of interest to many motorists. Sometimes in car it is necessary to check the integrity of fuses, wires, the presence of voltage. Of course, for such purposes there are also ordinary measuring devices, but they are powered by batteries that run out at the most inopportune moment, and the screen in the cold does not always show.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel George Kosilov will tell you how to make a simple measuring instrument for a motorist. This is the so-called "control" or control lamp, made in a convenient small case. You can make such home-made work in a matter of minutes using a minimum of tools.
Materials
- Ballpoint pen with a transparent body
- nail
- Indicator lamp for 12 V
- speaker wire
- Small crocodile
- Second glue
- Soldering acid, solder
- Soda.
Instruments, used by the author.
- soldering iron
- Nippers, pliers
- A screwdriver.
Manufacturing process.
The author parses the ballpoint pen, and selects a carnation of the appropriate size. The end of the nail must be sharpened, it will play the role of a probe.
Then the author winds the stripped edge of a piece of telephone wire onto the base of the clove.
Lubricates the soldering point with soldering acid, solders the junction.
As an indicator, a dashboard light will be used, or any other small power with a supply voltage of 12 volts. Solder one of the light bulb leads to the wire.
Then it collects the indicator head, installing a carnation in it. In order to fix it, the author uses ordinary soda. He fills it in the nose, and soaks it with super glue.
While the glue is drying, you can prepare the second part of the handle. The soft two-core speaker cable is excellent for such a device, it requires one core.
Drills a hole for the wire in the cap, you can burn it with a hot nail.
Solder the second contact of the bulb to a thin wire, bite off the excess and connect it to the speaker cable.
The indicator collects by pulling the wire through the cap, and the bulb should remain in the transparent part of the handle body.
Glues the cap into the base of the handle with a second glue.
Then it strips the edge of the cable, and clamps it with pliers in a small "crocodile". It is important not to forget to put on a cambric cable or a piece of heat shrink tubing.
Solder connection, put on cambric. The device is ready!
Now you can attach the crocodile to the mass of the car, and check the fuses.
And this is how similar products sometimes look.
In general, the author got such a device, there probably is no sense in explaining the scope of its application.
Thanks to the author for a simple, but useful and reliable homemade!
Good luck to everyone, and not a nail, no wand!
