I made such an antenna according to the instructions, described here. Only instead of plywood I have an aluminum sheet.

It does not work at all, even connected directly to the modem’s internal antenna. He did a “repeater,” no reaction. And the author claims to work.

I redid more than a dozen such antennas, and Kharchenko, and guns (a set of disks), if there are no jambs, such as a cable in a cliff or a short circuit in the connector, everything worked, with varying degrees of efficiency. I tried to determine the most effective operator at a specific point of reception. I found out that different modems with different antennas and different operators work differently, but they work! Most likely, the difference in the frequencies of the operators and antennas affects.

and if you pick up the aluminum sheet then it also does not work? Maybe the cable is too long, you need to add an amplifier near the antenna. And it is also desirable cable with a good braid of 99%, they beat 60%, 75%, etc.
