DIY gas lamp from a light bulb

Hello dear readers and the inhabitants of our site!
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel will tell you how to make an interesting and beautiful lamp from an ordinary incandescent bulb.

According to the author’s idea, the lamp will work on lighter fluid. But alcohol and kerosene will do.

This homework is done very quickly, a complex tool is not needed.

Materials
- burnt out bulb

- Bolt M16
- Lighter fluid
- Wooden plate or slice
- Wick for lighters.

Instruments, used by the author.
- Hacksaw
- gloves
- Screwdriver, or drill
- Pliers, screwdriver, tweezers
- glue gun
- Drill 5 mm.

Manufacturing process.
First of all, without removing the base itself, and without breaking the glass of the bulb itself, remove the central contact and the insulator around it from the base. Be sure to do this with gloves, the light bulb may burst.

Having removed the conductors and glass elements, only the bulb with the base remains.

As a cork, Ivan suggests using an M16 bolt with a 5 mm diameter hole drilled in the center. This can be done with a drill or screwdriver, holding a piece of the bolt in the chuck, and the drill in a vice. Then the center is relatively accurate. You need to cut about 20 mm along the length of the bolt.

Screws in the finished “plug”, it will also act as a radiator, preventing the main part of the bulb from heating up very much.

An ordinary coarse rope is not well suited for a wick.

Now, having slightly processed the bottom of the light bulb with emery paper, glues it onto a wooden slice using a glue gun. Yes, in general, you can use ordinary glue, but you need to wait longer.

As a fuel, the author suggests using liquid for refueling lighters. Pour a large amount is not worth it.

It installs a purchased wick for lighters, it is slightly reinforced with steel wire, so it does not fall into the bulb.

That's all, the homemade product is ready, you can light it. By the way, bulbs come in much larger sizes, 300 Watt is suitable for decorating a house, you only have to come up with wind protection.

Well, it looks like this at night.

When using this lamp, observe fire safety rules, do not leave such a lamp unattended.

Thanks to the author for a simple idea for a souvenir or decor.

All good mood and creative ideas!

So why, spit or not? beee
and get along =)
and it’s better to sniff (if you sniff) the present gasoline, in the former USSR era - lead.
hehehe
smell of white spirit like
A sniff sticky? Although in childhood I also liked the exhaust of our armored personnel carriers, but then the gasolines were different! smile
how the kerosene lamp smells
My grandmother told me when she was small, a lamp in a remote village - a luxury, but bought it! Her grandmother (my great-great ...) warns the children: "And you are looking, not spitting in the steak!". They wouldn’t even have a mind, but here is such a temptation! xaxa
it seems to me that it’s quite possible to pour molten paraffin onto the bottom of the flask, and if the wick soaked with it is reinforced, then it will be safer - if you want to play with open fire =)
About 50-60 years ago, it was in the magazines "Young Technician", "Modeler-Designer", "Pioneer" and other children’s.

Well, I don’t know, I’d refuel kerosene and remember the smell of childhood, how a kerosene lamp smells
think about it! I, for example, like the smell of white spirit, but the rewriter offered gasoline for lighters - that one seems to be odorless =)
And the smell of gasoline in the room does not bother? What is better than a good wax candle? smile
replace gasoline or oil with transparent epoxy, and fire with flickering LED =)
The lamp came off and fell - a fire.

The wick nevertheless failed inside - the gasoline fumes lit up inside - the bulb burst, and a fire.

What to do? Use fuel and only oil as fuel. Fix the bulb and the wick additionally.
