Treasure hunter tool - do-it-yourself search probe

Greetings to all lovers of crafting something from nothing. A familiar treasure hunter asked us to make him a search probe. Why is he with him metal detector it is not clear, but it’s his business. He brought material, a meter stud and various bolts and nuts. I did not take into account only the strength of the stud.

We will do it our way.

Tools needed.

1. Welding inverter.
2. Angle grinder.
3. Sharpening machine.
4. Vise.
5. Hacksaw for metal.

Materials required.

1. Steel reinforcement Ø10 mm.
2. Bolts and nuts.
3. Ball from the bearing.
4. Waste drill.
5. Legs from an old Soviet-era TV.

From steel reinforcement Ø 10 mm. we cut two pieces of 50 cm each. The reinforcement we came across is ribbed, so we grind the ribs with a grinder with a petal disk and on the grinding machine.

General view of the conceived product.

The probe is supposed to be made collapsible, for this we weld a thread to one segment of the reinforcement and to another nut. It is better to use extended nuts.

We clean the welding seams on the grinding machine.

To fix the handles of the future probe, we weld two elongated nuts together, we clean the seam and weld to the section of the valve to which the thread is welded. To the segment to which the nut is welded, we weld a thread for attaching removable nozzles.

Now we make removable tips on the probe. Since this part of the probe accounts for the largest part of the loads, we will make metal nozzles more durable than rebar. For soft soil we will make a drop-shaped nozzle. We weld the ball from the bearing to the elongated nut and process it on a grinding machine.

For a denser soil, we make a pointed nozzle. To do this, weld the shank of a broken or unnecessary drill to the nut.

We cut off the excess and process it on the grinding.

Legs from the Soviet-era TV miraculously fit for the probe pens. We twist, mark the desired size and crop.

In the process, the idea came to weld another thread between the handles, so as not to carry a spare nozzle in your pocket.

They did not paint the probe, since it is unlikely that any paint on this product will last long. And the cover lay for a long time in the workshop but waited in the wings.

All good and good luck in work.

Video on the manufacture of the search probe can be seen here.

Well, not all the same with grandfathers in the basements))) and the ramrod can also be bought in stores selling decommissioned property on the Internet. Here you need to find the core yourself))
That breche narot. "Tigers" in Neh in the swamps. And for this, we need an entot key, as an addition to MD.
PTR bullet core
ramrod from DP-27

Yoganych ... But the truth is, people say that you have not only Degtyar with a peter, but also the Tiger tank hidden in a haystack? ...))))
Or, the people are lying? smiles
Minimum cost: Torsion Trunk Lid from ,, Volga ,, on the tip weld the core from the PTR bullet. any pens would not slip. If you need a collapsible shyup - then the ramrod from DP-27 is suitable

I do not know the fool or not, but the customer appreciated and was very pleased.
fool, he must be very thin, hammer this armature with a sledgehammer? And in general a fool, you won’t find anything like that. Unless you know where the sewer hatch is and look for it with a “probe”

We advise you to read:

Hand it for the smartphone ...
