Glass drill

tools for making "drill":
drill
a piece of copper wire (for the manufacture of rivets)
a roller from a glass cutter (the diameter of the roller is the diameter of the future hole)
collet for clamping the lead (from any compass)
collect: - on the back of the collet is a fork
we retreat from the end of the fork 2-3 mm, drill a transverse hole into the diameter of the wire and the holes in the roller, insert the roller into the fork, pass the wire through all the holes, bite it with an allowance for riveting
rivet - the drill is ready.
I inserted a razor blade between the roller and the fork, so that when riveting I get a gap.
with this “drill” I drilled two glasses without removing them from the frame (I had to skip the antenna cable not the street)
drilling was carried out with a hand drill with a slight pressure, sometimes brushed glass dust with a brush moistened with kerosene. when the "drill" is formed at the output
point hole - drilled towards.
and also: when the edges of the roller become dull, turn it a little and the “drill” is ready for work again.
on the manufacture of "drill requires 15-20 minutes of work.

to everyone who wrote reviews:
this "drill" was proposed for manufacture in the 70s of the last century, when it was a problem to find a tool in stores - this is the first.
the second - the author even at that time did not propose spoiling the compass and glass cutter by cutting rivets; these components of the “drill” can be returned to their original form.
third, I drilled the glass without removing it from the frame, drilling is very "soft", there is no possibility of biting, and therefore chips of glass.
Spoil the glass cutter
Also a compass! smile
Spoil the glass cutter to get a ceramic pen, which is clearly cheaper than a glass cutter.
