This chess box was made by a master based on the computer game Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. The box has a playing field with the effect of infinity, a compartment for storing chess pieces and is decorated with burnt panels with a pattern.
So, to make a chess box, the following

Step One: Project
First, the master, taking into account the size of the acquired chess set, calculated the dimensions of the future product and drew a drawing.
Step Two: Mirror

Step Three: Foundation
Rounds off the board. Glues them. Once the glue has seized it cuts to the right size. Edges on a milling machine.
Step Four: Side
Cuts workpieces on the sides. Glues the box, leaving room for a box.

The box, as conceived by the master, is two-tiered. On the lower tier there will be boxes with figures, on the top there will be a playing field with the effect of infinity. Sets to the bottom of the second tier of the board.
Paints the boards inside the tier black. After drying, the paint sets the mirror inward.
Seventh step: locks and holes
Drills a hole for the wire of the LED strip. Installs magnetic locks on the drawers.

On the side surfaces of the box, first draws, and then burns out drawings based on the game.
Step Nine: Secret Compartment
Between the box and the base, the master cuts out a false bottom from plywood. The bottom is attached with magnets.
Step Ten: The Castle
The master made the castle from a piece of thin sheet metal. Bent metal inserted key, pre-installing the spring.In the normal position, the tongue is spring-loaded and rests on the box. If you insert a key made of a piece of wire into the lock, the tongue lowers and releases the box. To store the key, the master drilled a small hole in the corner of the box.

Step Twelve: The Playing Field
Now you need to make chess cells. The master takes a sheet of mirror film, cuts to size. Draws cells on it. With the help of brake fluid it erases white cells completely and black ones slightly. Then thoroughly wipes all the windows and mirrors. Fixes a chess field on a mirror. On top of the drawer in the groove sets glass.
Now it remains to arrange the pieces, turn on the LED backlight and you can enjoy a game of chess on an endless chess field.
