Once your taps for a tap, bought in a store,
lent to a friend and did not pick up on time. On weekends, it was urgently needed to cut the thread in the next home-made design in several holes, but there was no holder for the tap. I decided to make one do it yourself. Found a long nut M-5.
Secured the nut in a vise
and in the center of the side face drilled a hole with a diameter of 6 millimeters.
As a handle, I used an iron bar with a length of 80 and a diameter of 5 millimeters. At the end of the bar, I cut an M-5 thread 12 mm long and turned it into a long nut until it stops.
Through a hole in the side of the nut with a file - tetrahedron
in the handle, he carved a rectangular recess for the tap shank. The resulting handle is easy to use, just fix the tap with a bolt or stud with M-5 thread from the opposite end of the nut. I did not find a suitable bolt and used an extra M-5 tap.
To be able to work with various taps, for the holder we use a long nut M-8
and drill holes in three faces with drills with different diameters.
At the end of the M-8 bolt we make a rectangular notch with a four-sided file,
screw the bolt into the nut to the hole in the face, insert the desired tap and clamp it with another M-8 bolt.
The tap in the holder is fixed very reliably and working with such a winder is a pleasure.
