That's why I love tandem model airplanes, because of their flight stability and the relative simplicity of the design. Already several models have been built, starting with the “Pony” model of Alexander Mosunov, who during the construction process has grown a lot and turned into model "Mustang".
The length of the model is -0 950 mm.
Span - 1000 mm.
Weight - 400 g.
Motor - 2826/10 1400.
Screw - 7 X 6.
Servos - NHT900.
The regulator is 40 A.
The battery is 3S 2200.
From the “drawings”, from the photographs, from the video of the flight of his models, from the drawings of his project “Bactrian”, I created the model “Belukha”.
I’ll talk a little about her.
Long thought, what name to give the model? If his tandem can be called "Bactrian" - "Camel",
then why my model cannot be called - “Belukha”
By the way, very similar! In any case, the shape of the fuselage is very similar to a whale - Belukha.
I will not dwell on the manufacture of wings. The technology is no different from the manufacture of wings for any tandem, I will show a few photos below and talk more about it.
The wings differ only in size.
I try on the wings to the fuselage. I adjust the mowing of the front wing.
These keels will be on the model.
Keels and wings fit in place.
The whole model is made from a ceiling 4 mm thick.
The sides of the fuselage in two layers.
Motor mount - a piece of insulation - expanded polystyrene (expanded polystyrene) 20 mm thick with a glued piece of plywood 40x40x3 mm.
I will talk about TTX later.
I decided to lighten the wings a little, made new ones.
When the glue dries, I used cracks in the attic floor.
I hung the elevons, mounted wings and keels in their places, installed a motor, servos, connected the rods.
"Beluga" asks for flight.
The model is ready.
Now about TTX.
Length - 950 mm.
The span of the front and rear wings is 970 mm.
Flight weight 450 g.
Motor - 2836/10 1400
Screw - 5x5 or 7x6.
The regulator is 40 A.
Battery - 3S 1300Mach.
The next model for this scheme, I began to make a tandem under the name - "Whirlwind".
Although it differs from a real whirlwind in its very quiet disposition and calm flight.
I came across these drawings on the Internet.
Based on these drawings, I made my sketches, on which I built the model.
As always, the "general designer" - "Pozner" and the "chief engineer" - "Banana" helped me
First of all, I liked the device controlled PGO.
Now, as promised, I’ll tell you a little more about how the wings were made.
First of all, cut ribs.
He marked the places for them on the wing blanks and pasted them.
A foam profile skirting board, which was used as a spar, passed through the ribs. stuck.
By doing this, I connected two rear wing consoles in one piece.
The front wing is made in a similar way, except that it has a cutout for the fuselage when turning the PGO.
Internal partitions are glued to the blanks of the side walls of the fuselage.
PGO is mounted .. Before installation, the PGO is covered with colored tape.
PGO hung on double-sided tape.
After mounting the servo, to control the PGO, sealed the nose of the fuselage.
A small video about the work of PGO.
Fitting the wing to the fuselage and fitting parts.
In the keel blank, I cut a hole for the rear wing. He glued the keel into place, previously covering it with colored tape.
I cut holes in the rear wing and pulled technological threads through them, for which wires from servos were later dragged through the wing.
Bottom of the rear wing is reinforced with additional struts cut from wooden rulers that are glued to the wing and fuselage.
The walls of the fuselage are glued from the substrate in one layer. The internal partitions of the fuselage and keels are made in two layers.
Before pasting the rear wing, he led his skin with colored tape.
The fuselage is also tightened with tape. Made a removable cab. Under it will be located electronics and battery.
That's basically all the stages of building the model, it remains to put the motor.
Two words about the model.
Length -975 mm.
The wingspan of the hind wings is 1600 mm.
The scope of the PGO is 500 mm.
Flight weight - 600 g.
Motor - 3010 1300 Kv
Three-blade screw - 8 x 6.
The regulator is 60 A.
Battery - 3S 2200mAh.
The "chief engineer" expressed a desire to test the model.
The "General Designer" himself checked the pressure from the "chief engineer" and gave the go-ahead for the flight.
And the idea of a new tandem has already matured in my head.
This model will be made specifically for transportation by car or two-wheeled vehicle.
Here are the first photos about the construction of a model that will be called the Blue Bird.
This is how reclining winglets are made for easy transportation.
See you again. Yours.
