The author of Instructables under the nickname serhardt made a cardboard box pasted with veneer.
It took for her:
- cardboard
- veneer (prices for it differ literally tens of times depending on which tree it is made of)
- glue
- knife, scissors
- loops
- paint to color the insides
The master begins with the manufacture of the box itself:
When marking the walls, it takes into account the thickness of the walls. Do not repeat his mistake: make the lid immediately, and not after attaching the veneer to the box. Also pay attention to what thick cardboard he took. That is right. If you have a regular one, do not be lazy, glue two-layer from it.
The veneer cuts and glues the veneer, adhering to the following rules:
1. Basically cuts veneer with scissors, using a knife only when it is inconvenient to cut with scissors, or if you need to precisely adjust any size
2. When using cyanoacrylate adhesive with an activator, it applies the adhesive to cardboard, and the activator to veneer, but not vice versa
3. It does not immediately procure many details from veneer, but glues each of them immediately after it is cut. At first it glues over all the ends, and only then - large planes.
Now serhardt is polishing the veneer, but slightly. It is very thin, wiping it through is easier than it seems.
The master paints the box from the inside:
Covers veneer with Danish oil:
Fixes the lid with hinges, and next to all the above operations is waiting for another same box:
