The decision to create this machine was made spontaneously. There was a couple of sheets of mdf, and the engine from the washer, and the idea arose to try on a cartridge from a drill on the engine, it almost came up)))
Immediately a machine was drawn in my head, I began to think how to fix the engine. In one evening, he made the engine mount, base and headstock. The problem arose with the guides, in the week I bought two tubes in the furniture, and at work I already made an adapter for the cartridge. Then he fixed the guides, and for a long time was marked with holes in the movable headstock. It seems that everything worked out. There are many shortcomings in this machine, it would be iron, there would probably be no problems. The guides are very weak, bend.
Do it yourself, from improvised means. The engine from the washing machine (WA-10050TE), MDF boards, chipboard fiberboard or the like, a chuck from a drill, guides, and a few fasteners and small things.
It was assembled back in the 16th year, the year was lying around in this form. Then he gave it to a friend, he had already re-sharpened the cartridge and made the centering better. In general, a pretty good lathe for plastic, wood and even metal materials.
Next, a video made for YouTube from the same photos, plus at the end of the video test and trial work.
