In this article, the author of the YouTube channel "Mistry MakeTool" will tell you how it is very easy and simple to make a special drum grinding nozzle for a drill or screwdriver.
In its manufacture, the author will use various machines, but you can do with simpler tools.
Materials
- Sandpaper
- sheet plywood
- Two-component epoxy resin
- Masking tape
- Stud M10
- M10 nuts
- Bearings with an inner diameter of 10 mm
- Wood screws.
Instruments, used by the author.
- Drilling machine
- clamps
- A circular saw
- Spanners
- screwdriver
- Crown for wood
- Ruler, marker.
Manufacturing process.
So, first of all, the master collects the nozzle tip. It consists of a threaded stud, two nuts and a pair of bearings.
Then, using a drilling machine and a crown on a tree of suitable diameter, he drills several round logs from thick plywood. The thickness of the central drill must match the diameter of the stud.
The resulting workpieces very tightly sit on a hairpin. Of course, you can do this from a wooden round timber, or cut a suitable drum on a lathe.
Now, having glued the masking tape on the table, kneads on it both components of the epoxy resin. And puts it on the base of the stud.
The next step is putting kruglyashi on the hairpin, and smearing the layer between them. The whole structure is attracted by a nut on the other side of the stud.
After polymerization of the epoxy resin, it removes the nuts and bearings, clamps the hairpin with glued rounds in the drill chuck. Then, wrapping a wooden block with sandpaper, it evens out the surface.
Marks on the workpiece.
This groove can also be made using other tools, but the author used a circular saw.
The result is just such a drum with a groove for sandpaper.
Now you need to insert the sandpaper of suitable grain size into the groove.
Then fix on both sides with small screws.
Here's a drum like that.
The master collects the drum head with bearings. Their outer diameter may be larger - it will be more convenient to hold them in your hand.
Everything, the nozzle is ready for work.
It remains to fix it in the chuck of a screwdriver or drill.
A little test - you can create wave-like elements on wood.
And so this nozzle pierces a triangular neckline.
Thanks to the author for an interesting idea on creating a grinding nozzle!
