Hello dear modelers.
I deliberately do not focus on the tendency of lovers to do homemade to any one area of creativity, because any modeller can change his predilection at any time, and instead of a recently knocked together stool, he can create an excellent aircraft model or model yachts.
But you never know what can create a man keen on homemade goods!
Today I want to tell you about my very interesting project, which, to my bitter regret, was not completed due to illness.
The topic of this model was opened by me on the site.
Currently, the project is back in work, after its completion I will gladly show it to you.
That’s what good experimental modeling aircraft is its unpredictability.
When I build an aircraft model known to every aircraft model, such as the Cessna aircraft model, I know for sure that this model will fly even if I made some mistakes when creating it. But building an aircraft model that no one has ever built before me, maybe this plane doesn’t exist, there’s no such certainty. And the construction process is very different from the proven technology for building a classic model.
Recently, I became interested in models of aircraft with a disc wing. Even small "metal" for children with a disc wing turned out to be a lot of designs. .
They are very simple in design and it is very easy to build them, but there are also quite complex designs.
Why is the disk wing so interesting? It is important that the air flow smoothly flows around such a wing at any angle of attack up to 45 degrees.
The larger the angle of attack, the greater the lifting force of the disk wing, moreover, this wing does not break into a tailspin under any conditions.
Students of the Moscow Aviation Institute once designed one very interesting aircraft with a disc wing, which received the name - EMA -1.
They still had developments, but I liked this particular design of the aircraft, it greatly interested me.
I looked for such drawings.
Basic materials for construction.
Ceiling tile (ceiling) - 4 mm.
Sheet insulation - "Penopleks".
Universal adhesive, moisture resistant - "Titanium".
Color and double-sided tape.
Electronics.
Motor - L31 10 - 1300.
Screw - 8 X 6 three-blade.
The regulator is 50 A.
Servos - NHT900.
The battery is 2200 3S.
Dimensions of the model.
The diameter of the upper front wing is 500 mm.
The diameter of the lower, large wing is 820 mm.
This is how the wings were made.
Made a blank for the fuselage.
Disc wing above and below.
Front view.
A smaller wing is also made, like a large lower wing. Ailerons are cut out on the upper, small wing. Ailerons are hung on double-sided tape by gluing it between two layers of the ceiling, of which the ailerons and the wing itself are made.
Both the upper and lower wings have a profile. The lower plane is straight, the upper is convex.
The upper, small wing is mounted on the fuselage.
The motor is installed.
Keel is trying on a large wing.
Preparing the "glazing" of the fuselage.
All-weather chassis made.
Servos and traction are installed. Mounted ailerons and pH.
Electronics is in the fuselage of the model.
A hatch has been made to access it and to replace the battery.
To test the flight qualities and experiments, I made a small copy of my model, only with flat wings.
So a little modelka flies around the room.
Granddaughter really liked the small model.
Floppy disk assembly on the slipway.
Mounted a large wing on the fuselage.
I pasted the pilot's figure until it was painted.
Mounted the landing gear.
On the glazing of the cockpit and the installation of the rear swivel wheel, the work was interrupted ...
Although the model was not completed, I hope you liked it and some of you have a desire to build something like that.
On this, let me finish my story.
