Today I am full of unbridled desire to tell all of you about how I built an aircraft model of the most beautiful, unsurpassed masterpiece of our aircraft - the vertical takeoff and landing amphibian aircraft GDP - VVA-14.
I could tell you for a long time about the fate of the creator of this wonderful, brilliant man and about the apparatus created. I will confine myself to a small excursion into the history.
In the 50 years in the USSR, they actively began to create aviation to combat submarines.
In those years, few people knew this ingenious designer of aviation equipment, I think that today even few people know and remember Robert Ludwigovich Bartini. (Roberto Oros di Bartini).
This ingenious inventor, with a very tragic fate, worked during the creation of this apparatus in the design bureau of G.M. Beriev.
It was not in vain that the founder of our cosmonautics, S.P. Korolev, considered him his teacher and said that without R.L. Bartini the first artificial Earth satellite would not have been in our camp.
By the way, RL Bartini is the founder of the theory of 6 dimensional space. I advise you to read about RL Bartini.
I’ll say a few words about the plane, model which I was going to build. Only two “1M” and “2M” built such devices.
The layout of this aircraft is unique. The aircraft had a complex wing, which consisted of a center wing, a flying wing, in which the consoles and flight compartments were distinguished.

Due to the fact that they did not provide this aircraft with the necessary engines and disagreements in the top management on time, the project was turned off and they simply forgot about this aircraft!

Materials purchased for the construction of an aircraft model.
In the beginning, two wing consoles are made. Inside the console, a spar made of a wooden lath is glued. to create a profile.
The fuselage and VPU were made from a monolithic piece of insulation.
All this was manually processed, adjusted in size and mounted.
The inside of the fuselage blank was scraped and cut with a knife.
The wheels are made of foam, using the bottoms of aluminum beer cans.
The chassis, standing under the fuselage, is made according to the principle of glider.
The insulation plate is cut into individual blanks.
The front wings are reinforced with a glued-in strip of ceilings.
Elevons are glued from two layers of the ceiling.
They are hung on double-sided tape, before the final gluing of the wing consoles.
The thickness of the wing in the root is 38 mm. side beams 50 mm. , height 100 mm. Fuselage -100 x100 mm.
After removing unnecessary insulation from the workpieces, the halves are glued together.
Hatches were made in the lower plane of the fuselage to replace the battery and inspect the electronics.
It turns out a very ugly design, completely unlike a plane.
Models decided to give a name - "Barty-01" "Shadow".
I am not the first to make such an aircraft model.

Before the first flight.
Subsequently, the impellers were replaced with a single motor with a pushing screw. The model showed good flying qualities. The flight is stable, confident. DH in the estimated location.
Everything that I told you about was a long time ago, about 5 years ago. Currently, a new project has been launched to create the same model, with inflatable floats and blowing under the bottom with three screws located according to the tricopter scheme, in the wings and nose of the fuselage. They will work on lifting the model above the surface. A powerful engine is planned as a marching engine. At the end of the work I will tell in detail about the creation and testing of a new aircraft model.
