Bottle dryer

Hello dear regular users and guests of this site!
I present to your attention, after a fairly long break, another homemade I made literally from what I found at work and the minimum of tools that were found there and what lay in the trunk of the car.

Too many bottles have accumulated that are necessary for loading fuel samples there and transporting them to the laboratory. Since even a small amount of foreign substances in a bottle can affect its quality during examination, they have to be washed very often and dried accordingly before use. Drying on batteries is quite inconvenient, not to mention the fact that bottles can easily fall and break from the battery. And we can say they are worth its weight in gold. Therefore, there was a need for the manufacture of a special bottle dryer.

For manufacturing, as was said, many tools were not needed.

The basis was a few meters of used 20x50 mm pine blocks.

Having enough free space to install the dryer, it was decided to make it in such a way that as small as possible fit as many bottles as possible. Therefore, the transverse brackets will be placed at a slight angle. We proceed directly to the manufacture. To start, I sawed off 2 sidewalls to which the crossbars will be attached. He marked and cut grooves under them for a stronger connection. I cut out the grooves with a clerical knife, which I do not advise doing. In the process, the knife slid off the workpiece and carefully cut my finger. Do not forget about safety measures and protective gloves !!

Here is what you should get at the initial stage:

Pre-drilled holes in the grooves for dowels. The decision to use them was dictated by the lack of a sufficient number of screws, which at that time I simply could not get anywhere. Therefore, I had to save the available ones.

Next came the turn of manufacturing transverse slats-stands. Having determined the optimal distance between the holders so that with the bottles installed on them, they would not interfere with putting them on and taking them off, I marked and drilled holes in the slats.

They drilled holes for fastening to the sides of the dryer.

He cut dowels from the scraps of the bars and with their help secured together all the manufactured parts of the parts together.

Then he proceeded to manufacture the main holders, on which the bottles for drying will be worn. He cut out blanks from the same bars, several centimeters longer than the bottles themselves. They must not reach the base of the holder. Yes, and 2 cm, which will go into the crossbar, must also be considered. He cut it out, he made the base somewhat narrower so that it could freely enter the hole and remain firmly there, unable to jump out. Sanded with sandpaper. He drove them into the holes with a hammer

Now you need to make the legs so that the design is stable. Since there were 8 pieces of bottle places, they weigh quite a lot. Therefore, you need a stable base at the dryer. Having measured the length of the lower part, sawed off the bars and connected among themselves already with screws, after drowning them inside the legs.

In the design, the center of gravity is shifted forward due to the slope of the holders. Therefore, he made legs with a large ledge in front of the dryer.
Next, we fix the legs to the main body of the dryer with screws. They also strengthen the sidewall connections that I have on the dowels. On the top of the product we install a transverse strut, on which you can also install 4 more holders. But this did not suit me, because, as already mentioned, the thing will stand in a small nook.

It remains only to paint the finished product and you can use it.

Since the dryer was made in a big hurry and in the absence of some tools, the holders came out somewhat crookedly installed. And they themselves are far from perfect. But, nevertheless, with all this, for more than half a year she has been cope with her duties. That's what happened in the end, and so it looks at work. I hope someone comes in handy and he uses it. All the best to you and see you soon!
