Hello lovers homemade!
Once again I want to draw your attention to model the aircraft that my friend created based on the Oblivion Bubble ship, a bicopter from the science-fiction film Oblivion. The English word "Oblivion" is translated as "oblivion."
I am not going to retell the plot of this film, I want to clarify only one detail.
“The design of the aircraft, the prototype of which was the Bell 47 light helicopter, was developed by designer Daniel Simon,
For shooting an aircraft made of aluminum and fiberglass, a life-size collapsible model was built weighing about two tons; in addition, a copy of the cockpit was also made, which was installed on a motorized gimbal, which allowed it to move and rotate in all directions like an aircraft simulator. This allowed “live” to shoot scenes in which the aircraft performs complex maneuvers, which increased their realism. ”

"Bubble ship" is literally translated - ship bubble.
My friend is periodically planted with various images of flying vehicles from science fiction films, so that he turns them into real models, moreover, flying ones!
So it happened with this aircraft, which has not yet been built by the author, until this time.
The author specially watched this film and many times its individual fragments.
The hull length of this aircraft is 650 mm.
The main problem during the construction was -
"Holding the pitch with a bicopter with a center of gravity (CT) located above the propellers."
The author began building the model with the manufacture of individual parts and assemblies.
I will not specifically list the materials used, in the process of my story it will be clear what is made of.
The main material for the fuselage was ceiling tiles.
The design of the landing gear, involves the use of aluminum 6 mm. duct, which is attached to a piece of plywood with bolts.
The tail made from the ceiling is mounted on a carbon tube
The search began for suitable products to create a transparent bubble dome.
Using plastic products, bought before that and which he rejected, as a matrix, he bent plastic bottles from under them onto them.
The resulting blanks were joined with transparent tape.
This is how the “punch” and “matrix” look.
To create the power plant enclosures, the author used Penoplex insulation. Since the bodies were in the shape of a ball, he made 4 hemispheres, where impellers were mounted.
During the construction, reinforcement of the bearing parts of the apparatus is made. A transverse beam is installed.
Servos are delivered with a metal gear.
Places for electronics are determined.
While the model does not look like a prototype at all.
Due to lack of traction, motors had to be installed instead of impellers.
The reconstruction was successful.
"The model is kept in the air and controlled, despite the fact that the DH is located above the screws."
After successful tests, the author decided to take up the design of the model.
Local tightening of the ceiling and painting.
The mounting of the chassis with the model body is being strengthened.
Installation work ends, the painting of the model begins.
Small wings are mounted on spheres.
Further painting of the model is carried out.
I tried the model body on the chassis.
Real forms of the model began to appear.
Made lights in the engines.
Small details are made.
Design work in the cabin.
Mounting the cab in place.
Checking the lighting inside the cockpit.
Several photos on nature. Made panel to close the battery.
The model is fully ready for flight.
Video flight.
So, a new model was created, based on the “Oblivion Bubble ship” - a bicopter from the science-fiction film “Oblivion”.
It is very interesting, what model of the fantastic device will the author create next time?
On this I will end my story. See you soon, Valerian master. ,
