775 Small Engine Mill

Hello everyone, in this instruction we will look at how to make a small electric mill for the kitchen. Using it, you can conveniently and quickly grind grains of corn, rice, buckwheat and other cereals. As a power unit, the author used the famous 775 motor, which can be powered by a battery, it works on a voltage of 12-24V. Of course, you can simply use a similar motor, but it is hardy and gives excellent torque and high revs with its small size.

Homemade quite simple, and copes with the tasks perfectly. If you are interested in the project, I propose to study it in more detail.

Materials and tools used by the author:

Material List:
- a metal can from under baby food (or the like);
- ;
- a piece of steel plate (to make a knife);
- adapter to the motor shaft for installing propellers;
- boards;
- MDF or plywood;
- paint;
- mounting bracket for the 775 engine;
- switch;
- wires;
- battery or power supply 12-24V;
- A small plastic container with a lid.

Tool List:
- drill;
- hammer;
- a hacksaw;
- epoxy adhesive;
- soldering iron;
- screwdrivers, etc.

Crusher manufacturing process:

Step one. Knife making
First of all, we’ll make a knife, here we need a suitable steel plate. It is better, of course, to use carbon steel, but then it will have to be tempered. You can also make from ordinary iron, as the author, but such a knife will need to be sharpened more often.

We cut off the part of the required size from the mounting bracket or other workpiece and bend it like the author. Well, then it remains only to sharpen the cutting plane. In the center of the knife you need to drill a hole to install it on the motor shaft. Here we need an adapter that is used to install propellers. It is important that the knife is well balanced, otherwise strong vibrations are inevitable.

Step Two Capacity
We will need a container in which the whole sacrament will take place, that is, the crushing of grain. For such purposes, the author used a can of baby food.We drill a hole for the motor shaft, as well as holes for the screws with which we will screw the motor.

Step Three Bed
Let's make a frame on which we will install everything. The author collected it from plywood and MDF, you can also use plywood, fiberboard and other materials. We assemble the frame with screws and then paint everything.

Step Four DIY assembly
We assemble the mill, first we install the motor, then we need a mounting bracket for the 775 engine. Next, we fasten the container to the engine and install the knife. Additionally, the author glued the container to the bed using epoxy glue.

We will finalize the neck of the mill, there must necessarily be a lid. The author glued a plastic container without a bottom with epoxy glue, which is closed by a lid on top.

Well, we will also need to install a switch and a battery. After that, the homemade product is ready for testing.
To begin with, the author pours corn grains into the mill, and it is most difficult to grind them. A couple of seconds and the grains easily turn into cereals. As for rice, the mill copes with such a task without any special effort. That's all, the project is over, I hope the idea was interesting for you, and you found useful information for yourself. Good luck and creative inspiration, do not forget to share your ideas and homemade things with us!
