So, let's begin. To begin with, the author takes blanks from metal pipes of square section. From them he collects two rectangular blanks of different sizes. By welding, it fixes the workpiece. Cleans and polishes corners.
Finished metal rectangles are attached to the "pallet". The boundaries of the inner rectangle and the outer are marked.
This is done in order to accurately drill holes to secure the workpieces on a pallet.
Further, molten aluminum and its pieces are poured into the billet. The filling takes place in several stages and in finished form will look like lava flows after the eruption of the volcano. After aluminum is poured and solidified, the frame of the rectangles is removed. It was used as a form to outline the boundaries of the future table.
The design is cleaned of defects that have occurred during the pouring process, minor defects and debris.
Next is plastic. The author, using a grinding machine, processed one side and gave it a matte shade for a better fit of the paint to the material. Painted in black. With the help of art supplies, she draws a figure in the shape of a spiral galaxy on the prepared surface, which corresponds to the author’s idea. It makes holes in the finished drawing with a thin drill. These are future stars. To show where the holes have already been drilled, the author put a spotlight under the workpiece. Everything becomes visible and comfortable to work with.
Now fiber optic. It is cut to the desired size and assembled in bundles. On the back side of the plastic, where there is no pattern, the ends are pushed into the holes of the drilled stars.
In the countertop along the edges of the inner hole, corners are attached, on which the plastic part with bundles of optical fiber is laid and glued.
It is filled with epoxy. First, the inside, and after complete drying, the entire countertop is completely. After drying, the surface is polished.
The next step is the manufacture of table legs.Their author makes in the form of planets. To do this, wooden balls are machined, inside of which holes for studs are drilled. Several planets imitate the gas giants of our system, that is, they have rings. The author makes them from pieces of wood and resin. Pieces of wood are placed in the prepared form and filled with epoxy. After drying, the rings themselves are cut, which are ground and varnished for shine. All planetary balls are polished and mounted on studs, on the tops of which stubs are wound.
Bulbs, luminous elements are inserted into the bundles of optical fiber that are collected on the back of the countertop. When they are turned on, the stars on the table begin to glow. As a result, Positive couple got such an unusual, interesting galaxy table!
