This time, we will talk about building a model of a very original aircraft, the design of which uses a wide, bearing fuselage, creating additional lift.
My friend started to build model this plane.
For its huge fuselage, this plane got such nicknames: “The Shed” and “Flying Shoebox” (2))
Subsequently, the author found photographs of the aircraft, which he used as a prototype,
"So the copied board will be 9M-LLA LAYANG LAYANG from sunny Malaysia."
I once built a similar model from the ceiling, but this model, which the author began to build, has completely different scales.
Let's take a look together at the building process and what came of it.
The author used computer graphics to build the model in 3D format and used these drawings.
First of all, the author began to make blanks from wood, more precisely from pine, for side members.
Workpieces must be made very accurately and must be calibrated to a cross-section of 6 x 2 mm
For the side wall of the fuselage, 4 spars are used.
I will not describe in detail the whole process, and especially the exact dimensions of the parts, because all the details correspond to the dimensions of the drawing and, ultimately, are adjusted in place.
The fuselage body sheathing will be carried out with a balsa.
During the construction, it is taken into account that there would be fairly free access to the electronics locations.
The author plans to transport the model in a disassembled state and tries on an unfinished design for placement in the car.
Mounted chassis design.
In some places, the balsa is reinforced with plywood linings.
Photo with unshaped model construction.
The author attaches particular importance to the design of the wing and its power combination with the fuselage.
The assembly of the wing and its installation on the fuselage are nearing completion.
When assembling the wings, the author applies his favorite technology.
The perpendicularity of the spar in all planes is checked.
Aileron hitch designs are being checked.
Work continues with the fuselage.
Stabilizer and keel work.
Hitch RN and RV
The front strut of the support is made.
Work continues from the bow of the fuselage.
Work is underway to break in the motor.
Lining the balsa of the nose of the fuselage.
This is how the model looks at this moment.
Dear friends, the author of the construction of the aircraft model was discontinued due to the fact that my friend got married! I can’t say when the work will be continued upon completion of the construction of this model. I hope that the model will be completed and the author will show us it in all its glory. We will wait for the video of the first flight.
On this I say goodbye to you, Goodbye, your Valerian master. .
