Manufacturing process.
First you need to remove the gearbox from the benzotrimmer.
You also need an asterisk from a set for remaking a grinder into a chainsaw.
And then the tire and chain from the same set.
Actually installation of the drive sprocket is carried out using standard parts from the trimmer. Namely - instead of a drum with a fishing line, an asterisk itself is put, then it is pressed by a native nut. Due to the fact that the thread is reverse, no spontaneous unscrewing will occur.
Now you need to make the adapter plate for mounting the tire with a chain. The distance between the washer and the body is slightly more than 5 mm. Therefore, the plate must be made of steel sheet with a thickness of 4 mm, so that there is a gap.
The author recently met with coral stripping discs.
It is with these discs that rust and paint can be removed very quickly and easily.
Now the master marks the width of the future mount, it will be equal to the width of the gear housing, 55 mm.
Then cuts off with a grinder.
The next process is the manufacture of holes in the plate for the protrusion of the gearbox using a metal crown.
Next, the master marks the center of the hole, and cores it. When working with this crown, it is necessary to use the minimum speed, and be sure to use oil as a coolant.
Here is the blank. It is necessary to tighten the parts together with a clamp, make the marking of the holes.
Now you need to drill and countersink the mounting holes.
Pre-connects parts with screws.
So, the distance from the end face of the sprocket and the plane of the bracket is a little more than 20 mm. Therefore, it is necessary to raise the tire at this distance using a steel square of 20X20 mm.
Since the gearbox is bolted to the bracket, you need to mark it for the next processing step.Disassemble the connection, cut and strip according to the marking.
The steel square strips and welds to the center of the bracket, and knocks the scale.

Almost everything is ready, the next moment is to make holes for mounting the tire. And since the protection will be used, the holes the master makes are the same as hers.
For precise drilling, the master uses his own drilling machine. Using oil and a thin drill makes a preliminary pass. Then it drills holes according to the diameter of the bolts - 8 mm.
That's all, the part is cleaned, painted and ready for assembly.
Installs the gearbox in place, puts on the washer and sprocket, tightens the nut with a wrench.
Pulls a chain on an asterisk, puts on protection, fixes with bolts. It is important to check the chain tension.
Secures the gearbox to the trimmer bar, tightens the bolts.

The gas trimmer did its job. The only thing missing is the chain lubrication system. But for small branches it is quite suitable.
