For this project, wood trimmings of contrasting colors are suitable. It can be maple and cherry, for example. The author cuts the board first along the halves, then across. Then it connects both halves using double-sided tape.
From above, he imposes an oval-shaped pattern and, using a Forstner drill and an electric jigsaw, cuts an oval hole.
Then he glues both parts, and processes them on grinding machines.
Steve now carves a thin plate of cherry wood with a circular saw.
Then it sticks it on maple boards, covering both layers from above with a maple plate with a slot. Fixes clamps. And now two small sockets are almost ready, it remains only to let the glue dry.
Now Steve carves the base of a large outlet. Along the perimeter of the board, he makes grooves for decorative insertion.
He cuts thin strips from a cherry tree.
Now begins to paste them into the grooves. The protruding parts of the edging are hammered, the excess material is cut off.
From the oblong cherry beam, on which the template was previously glued, the "legs" of the sockets are cut. Billets are ground on a drum machine, and then with fine sandpaper by hand.
The master polishes the ends of the plates on an orbital machine, and then manually.
Glues the legs to the base of the plate.
This is followed by the manufacture and gluing of legs to small plates, grinding their ends.
Deliveries under sticks are made according to the same principle. Only they are three-layer.
The author also cuts the sticks according to the template on a band saw and processes it on a grinding machine. Two sides processed.
It remains to stick the template on the processed side, and repeat all the steps. Thus, the sticks will become quadrangular.
At the end of the product are varnished. Sticks are not varnished. In general, for the finishing processing of wood used for food, it is better to use linseed oil.
