Spider lamp

Hello everyone, today I will tell you how the master did do it yourself a lamp in the shape of a spider.

For this, the author used mahogany and a light bulb.

so, let's begin

Tools and materials:

1. Wood (any kind, used mahogany)
2. Super glue
3. Wood glue
4. Grinder
5. Drill
6. Skin
7. 8mm drill
8. Band Saw
9. Clear varnish

1. Take a piece of wood and cut it into strips of size 2x1.2 cm. These strips will be used for spider legs.

2. You will also need a bulb holder. The author chose metallic not for appearance, but because he was the only one that could be disassembled. Used only the ring that you see in the picture.

3. The body of the spider consists of two wooden disks 3 cm high each. One of them should be hollowed out using a blade with a diameter of 28 mm. This will be the part where the nest will be.

So cut the two pieces on a band saw and glue them together. Use a clamp to apply pressure, and as soon as they are clamped, allow time for gluing.

4. Once the glue has dried, take the piece you just made and give it a round shape. A lathe would help a lot, but the author didn’t have it, I had to look for another way to do it. Therefore, he removed as much material as possible using an orbital sander.

5. Using a miter saw, cut six pieces of 6 cm long with sleeves at both ends. The author cut two pieces at 45 °, two at 30 ° and two more at 35 °. You can cut your pieces at any angle you like, if it is at least 30 °.

Next, cut another six pieces 15 cm long. Again, two of them at 45 °, two at 30 ° and two more at 35 °

6. Form the spider's legs as shown in Figure 2 and glue them together. You should have something like this.

Now use a rotating tool to shape the legs for good contact with the body of the spider.

7. Attach the legs to the body using super glue. You can also use wood glue, but it takes longer and it is difficult to pin your feet on the body.

8. Again for the jaws of the spider, cut two small pieces of wood and glue them together, as you did with your legs. This time use a handsaw or a miter saw, because the parts are too small and it is dangerous to use power tools.

9. Drill an 8 mm hole in the stomach of the spider for the cord. Pass the cord through the hole and connect the wires. After connecting the wires, insert the socket into the hole in the tree and fasten it with two screws.
