Probably few people know and remember this masterpiece of Russian aviation technology, the author of which was the brilliant aircraft designer Igor Ivanovich Sikorsky, and even fewer aircraft models who made attempts to build model this plane.
The construction of this model is a hellish, titanic work for many months, and maybe even years.
As always, the author began with a selection of drawings and materials related to the various elements of this aircraft.
At the next stage of the work, the author began scanning drawings and other materials in ACAD.
The modeling of a three-dimensional model of the entire aircraft and its individual structures begins.
In parallel with three-dimensional modeling, design work is underway on the real elements of the model.
The Ilya Muromets aircraft was equipped with a 140 hp engine. "ARGUS"
His three-dimensional model is also being made.
Three-dimensional models of the binding of wings to the fuselage, wing struts, landing gear, landing system are made.
The author paid special attention to the tail unit: stabilizer, keel, steering wheels.
