Time flows, everything deteriorates, and repair time comes.
I want to share the design of the porch, which I managed to build in exchange for the old one.
This required:
- 6 bars 50 x 30 mm,
- 10 boards 100 x 25 mm
- 10 boards from pallets,
- 3 pieces of roofing material or other soft material for the roof, a width of 600 mm,
- 3 liter jars of paint for lighter and 2nd for darker with the condition of painting at once,
- antiseptic,
- wood screws 4 x 45 mm and 4 x 75 mm,
- dowels for long screws.
From the tool:
- jigsaw,
- a grinder with a grinding wheel,
- screwdriver,
- metalwork corner,
- construction level,
- roulette
- brushes.
The garden house was built over 20 years ago. The old porch was made of brick and tiled, which eventually began to fall off. The porch was small and not very convenient to use. The porch led to a small veranda, which also had a deplorable appearance. In other words, what is being said looked like this.
To make, a simple straight porch was not possible, since to his right,
almost right, garden paths approached. This can be seen from the above photos.
Therefore, on the right, I came up with a slanting support for the roof. This made it possible to move freely at this small intersection.
To begin with, the wooden materials that were supposed to be used in construction are treated with an antiseptic and well dried. Processing was carried out twice.
Then lags were laid, a little longer than the width of the foot. They turned out to be short, that's why they are well fixed through long self-tapping screws and dowels right in the brick base of the old porch. They were made of strapping from the bars in the form of steps.
Boards were laid on the logs.
On the steps on the right side, along the edge, a bevel was provided. The treadmills were sewn up with vertical boards. The racks of the porch roof, through the rafters are connected to the wall of the veranda and are rigidly fixed. In addition to this, carved railings made of boards removed from pallets still give stiffness. The figure is cut by an electric jigsaw.
When installing the railing boards, an intricate pattern is formed. Which fits very well into the porch design.
On the racks in the form of a roof, pieces of wooden Shiites are laid. Which are covered with roofing material laid on mastic.
The whole porch was cleaned of old peeling paint. The assistant began painting the almost finished porch. Ah, I started threading under the roof cut.
Then he painted it and set it in its place.
After admiring our work, my assistant and I realized that the dilapidated facade of the bathhouse adjacent to the veranda and the house spoils everything.
I had to immediately put everything in order. Quickly painted it.
And a little embellished.
A neighbor in the garden, seeing the porch, for some reason called him - glamorous.
That is all I wanted to share.
The porch was built in September 2016. It stands to this day.
According to the materials, for sure, everyone who is going to repeat will have their own alignment.
