Model of the Temple on the water. Steamboat Church "St. Nicholas the Wonderworker"

1 step. Acquaintance.
The first time I saw a photograph of this model about two years ago. She really interested me in her unusualness, in her majesty and solemnity. Some kind of color. I read a lot about ships and vessels of various designs and destinations, but I never saw or even heard anything like it.

In other words, this ship has sunk into me. He began to search for material, read, search for drawings, photographs, descriptions. And it turned out that the material is very, very small. I had to collect bit by bit. There were only three photographs of the original, but not of very good quality. Except for one.

There were only two photographs of models of this ship, not paper ones. But here, the authors worked hard. Models differed from each other. And only, after a long search, in the magazine "Naval", issue No. 2, somehow everything was more or less generalized. It also found a diagram of the steamboat church and a drawing of a general view and a side view in 12 paper format. In it was the very history of the steamboat church, very interesting. Actually this magazine and the collected material I used when creating the model.

I found, however, first in the photographs - model made of paper. This is a set for paper modeling - BM No. 133. But, it didn’t work to download, until the guys modellers helped. These drawings, peeping so cleanly, where that is not very clear.

For another year, I comprehended and pondered until everything worked out. Until the image of the model stood in front of me. Apparently stood up, but not to the end, but more on that below.

2 step. PHOTOSESSION

For some reason, I thought that at first it would be convenient to see the finished model.
And, then, who cares, the manufacture of individual parts will look further.
Happy viewing.

3 step. Assembly.

Body.

Everything is simple here. Increased frame mesh for scale M1: 100. He bought student rulers and cut frames. The keel of the ship is also from the same rulers, consists of two parts.

Then he put everything together in a single on a previously cut deck.

It should be noted that while all this was dry, the nuts were made to mount the model on the holders.

Then the spacers were filled with polystyrene foam, trimmed, putty, sanded and pasted over several layers of newspapers.

And at this moment, we can say the image of the model was formed completely. As they say - a good thought comes afterwards. So it turned out like this. And it’s good that now, otherwise I would have to break much more.

I decided to revive the model - to electrify the model of the temple. So that the portholes and the light on the cockpit burn. Running lights burned, outdoor lighting, and most importantly, the light from the candles flickered and there was a service in the church. He threw everything and began to think how to translate it. When I realized what could happen. The realization has come that it is necessary to hammer the body.

Together with a sample in the hull, I sawed off the deck kits to make them typesetting.

In order to make sure once again that everything will go inside the model, the case with which it was all clearly put aside and engaged in add-ons.

Step 4. Production of add-ons.
I decided to make the central add-on out of plastic, with samples for laying wires.

The walls of the church made separately.

Then he took up the feed superstructure. She was the most laborious, as she had an oval roof. I made it out of paper into several soaked with super glue. It turns out almost plastic, only homemade. The feed superstructure was connected to the central one as a whole.

Production and installation of cockpits on the body kits of the sides of the ship and guest cubicles in front of the church.

The church itself and the guest kubrick.

Belfry (wheelhouse).

Step 5. Continuing work on the body

Puttying and primer of the body.

Installation of body kit gratings and brackets supporting them.

Painting the sides and bottom.

Decking and painting of body kits.

Decking on central setting.

Installation on the base.

Step 6. Production of detailing.

Benches

Fire buckets.

Lifebuoys.

Impellers

Boat.

Windlass.

The decoration of the church.

Step. 7 Wiring.

The circuit, one might say relay, is divided into upper and lower parts. Dock through a makeshift connector. The basis of the circuit consists of 2 time relays with a delay on inclusion. One is adjustable, the second is not, as well as multiplayer. The sound is recorded on the memory card from separate phonograms, combined into a single phonogram:
- the sound of a floating steamer,
- the horn of the ship,
- bell ringing
- a prayer for St. Nicholas the Wonderworker,
- the whistle of the departing steamer.

Installation of portholes.

Other installation.

To show and tell everything in a small article is not possible.
If you have questions, write to me.
That's it.

See, criticize, advise, ask.

And I was lucky to see Starpom models with my own eyes, It's just something with something! Unfortunately, neither the camera nor the photos can convey what I saw!

Good day!
It took a year. A photo with night lighting, and a video, too, is nothing good.
In the model description in the Electrical section, there is one photo in complete darkness. But, this is on the table and only an add-on.
The assembled model is perceived poorly, such as a Christmas tree, the lights are on, but the model itself is not visible. For this reason, I refused such a survey.

Dauzh ... probably spent a lot of time on such a thing? Excellent! I would like a photo in night lighting, well, or a video. sun_bespectacled

Thank you, dear Feonor12!
For the assessment of my work. I am very glad that you liked the model of "St. Nicholas the Wonderworker".
Regards, Starp.
Chic work. I still have a long time to grow. I sincerely respect bench modeling, but not enough perseverance. I love it when it works - it flies / walks on water, that's why I do not spend so much effort on detailing.
