Using a jigsaw stationary on a coffee table

In this article, we will consider how the author solved the problem of using a jigsaw as a band saw machine. The author does not need to constantly use such a machine, but for one-time operations he made this version. The basis for the desktop was a coffee table. After use as a saw, it can again be used for its intended purpose.

Tools and materials:
- Electric jigsaw;
-Drill;
-Drill;
-Screwdriver;
-Hammer;
-Roulette;
-Fasteners;
-Threaded inserts;
-Laminated chipboard;
-Two rollers;

Step One: Base Plate
First of all, the master removes the base plate from the jigsaw. There are two holes on the plate that can be used for mounting. Additionally, the author drills two more.

Step Two: Threaded Inserts
Marks and drills blind holes on the underside of the lid. When marking, it is necessary to consider how the jigsaw will be placed. It is necessary to combine the jigsaw blade and the opening between the planks of the table on one axis. Further in the holes installs threaded inserts.

Step Three: Installing a Jigsaw
Screws the plate in place and secures the jigsaw to the bottom of the table top.

Next, the master tests the machine. In principle, the machine works, but the blade without a guide walks. In addition, without a top point, it is difficult to navigate and clearly keep the cut line.

Step Four: Guide
The master made the guide from the laminated chipboard, two plastic rollers, a metal bar and two screws. A rack is made of chipboard. Rollers are fixed on its end, between which the jigsaw blade will slide.

Sawing has become much easier with the guide.

After sawing, the machine is disassembled

and the table can be used as a coffee.

The whole process of assembling the machine can be seen in the video.

Do as I am and you will be happy. The door from the Soviet kitchen set, fixed to the workbench. I drilled a hole and screwed a jigsaw from the bottom. Above is the first shelf with a cut and ALL. Well, the trim of the plywood as a clip through the screw I fasten and adjust. The “clean cut” file cuts evenly and without chips.

But what if the table is made of chipboard?
-If you mean the gap between the boards, then you can make symmetrical holes on both sides, or more, depending on the imagination. Decorate them. Use one of the holes for a jigsaw. Well, fasteners, you need to look there already. You can plate the invoice with a thread, for example, if the chipboard is thin.
But what if the table is made of chipboard? Well, we don’t have anything from natural wood! PS: first make a table not to offer;)))
not a "coffee" but a "beer table"
Do not put your feet on the table! ireful
