Greetings to dear readers and the inhabitants of our sites. I want to tell you about one thing device for servicing a car, which, as it turned out, few people know about.
Recently to me in garage a neighbor came in and asked that I was just sitting in the car.
“I'm not sitting, but I'm pumping the brakes,” I remarked to him.
- How do you pump them alone? To do this, an assistant is needed ....
And really, is there really no way without an assistant? Yes Easy!
I am sure that many of the respected readers also do this on their own.
There are quite a lot of tips on the Internet on this matter, someone adapts the non-return valve from the washer, someone uses the gas stop from the back door (you must hold the gas stop especially for this), someone buys or makes an upgraded brake reservoir cover with a hose.
However, there is no need to buy and upgrade anything. Except for hands and a hose nothing more is needed. I learned about this method for a long time, while still serving in the Soviet Army, they never bought any appliances there, but did everything themselves. Since then I have been driving for more than 35 years and have always pumped the brakes in all my cars that way.
We take a hose, rubber, elastic. Of sufficient length. The inner diameter of the hose must match or be slightly smaller than the size of the exhaust fitting of the brake cylinder.
You can like that, white. Or like that, red. You can black, no difference, if only the diameter matches.
With a razor or a sharp clerical knife, we make a small side incision at a distance of 2-3 cm from the end of the hose. Not more than a centimeter. In the normal state, this notch on the hose is practically invisible. If you slightly squeeze the hose with your fingers, the edges of the notch will part, this can be seen in the photo.
The end of the hose is plugged with some screw or bolt. At the same time, it will be a weight, so that the hose does not pop up.
We connect the hose to the fitting and immerse the other end in the eggplant with brake fluid.
We unscrew the fitting a little and go to the driver's seat, press the brake pedal.
We press the pedal three to four times, feeling how it falls a little. This brake fluid under pressure escapes through an incision in the hose into the eggplant. It does not come back, because without pressure the edges of the hose are compressed and are below the liquid level.
We add liquid to the tank and repeat this procedure three more times.
After that, we twist the fitting and remove the hose. All.
