Galvanization of the car and the fight against corrosion

Hello dear readers and the inhabitants of our site!
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel "Glavnyiy Mehanik" will tell you about a simple way to combat corrosion of the car body and more.

Its technology is based on the principle of electrolytic galvanizing.

Materials
- Salt battery
- Cotton pad
- The wire
- Stationery erasers
- Orthophosphoric acid
- Soda, water
- Electric crocodile
- Nail polish.

Instruments, used by the author.
- Stationery knife
- Battery 12 V.

Manufacturing process.
So, the author will show you how to make a very simple, but at the same time very effective device to combat foci of corrosion on car. The device is so simple that even a child can make it.

To make it, you will need ordinary salt batteries. These batteries are made of pure zinc (about 99%).

Then you need to strip its body from the insulating film. To do this, you just need to cut the film with a knife, and remove it.

Next, you need a piece of wire. Wrap this wire around the battery.

In order for the wire to hold well - wrap it with ordinary stationery elastic.

At the other end of the wire we fix an electric crocodile.

Now you need to take one cotton pad, wrap it with a battery, and secure it with an elastic band.

Here is such a device.

We take the usual orthophosphoric soldering acid, and moisten the cotton wool.

The device is ready to work - it remains only to connect it to the positive terminal of the car battery.
With this device you can remove rust. And not just remove, but even galvanize the metal.

This is a typical area of corrosion on the wheel arch of a car. To evaluate the effectiveness, the author will not even consider this rust.

Simply presses the device with a moistened cotton to the place of corrosion.

The rust itself leaves, and the metal, which was rusty, is covered with a layer of zinc. You just need to hold it for a few minutes. Zinc from the battery case switches to metal on the car body, and this place will no longer rust.It can be seen how rust has almost all gone.

After galvanizing, there was no trace of rust; only a small thin silver layer of zinc appeared.

Next, it is necessary to neutralize the effect of acid. To do this, you need ordinary baking soda. We dilute it with warm water, and the composition is ready to neutralize the action of the acid.

Just wet the cotton pad in this solution, and process the place. The formation of foam signals a chemical reaction of acid and soda.

It remains only to choose the appropriate nail polish and paint over the damage.

As a result, from a distance of a meter, almost nothing is noticeable. Here is such a simple and budget repair suggested by the author.

Thanks to the author for a simple but useful way to fight corrosion!

All good mood, good luck, and interesting ideas!

It didn’t work out, most likely, because it did not neutralize the acid. cray
yes, exactly ... "now i know kung fu"

So batteries are zinc drinks
So it's zinc! Wow, cool, but I always thought it was lead
I have not tried it myself, but I remember a neighbor who, under socialism, tried to master this method.
But something didn’t work out and he spat a lot.
