Hello everyone !!! Most recently, floor heating was installed at work from polypropylene pipes, often it was necessary to cut the pipes, but as there were no special scissors, it was necessary to saw with a hacksaw for metal, and this causes a lot of inconvenience, then you will cut off crookedly then the fittings will run, then you will cut it in a hard-to-reach place, and this ah how not convenient.
After a little thought, I decided to quickly collect something like scissors for cutting pipes, and it seemed to work out just right.
And so we need: profile 25x50mm, a bolt with four nuts, a strip of iron 50x300mm, two plates with a hole for the ears and a standard set of tools - this is a grinder, a drill, welding.
Here is our profile
As I said: 25x50mm, and a sheet of iron 5cm wide, 2mm thick and 30cm long
Well, that's all the stuff.
Getting started. We make a cut in a 20cm profile on the side wall exactly in the middle with a cutting disc
From a strip of metal we form, as it were, a blade and a handle
Now we sharpen the blade, round the tip of the blade, remove all sharpening along the edges, drill a hole 6 mm, backing a little from the edge
We pass to our ears, such ears
We take the ears, try on in their places and weld on both sides. Not forgetting the symmetry of the parties. First I welded one side, then I centered the second side with a bolt and welded.
Well, you can try on, the scissors are almost ready
General view of the product
Now proceed to fastening the blade. I put the bolt through the eye, screw the nut, tighten the bolt a little, put the blade, screw another nut and on the other hand screw another nut, and we all counter
I decided to weld a pad from a strip of metal for stability
So that the blade does not warp, I take a 6mm wire rod
I weld drops to the top of the blade
Well here is our device done. On this day, I cut a lot of pipes - these scissors for small pipes up to 20 mm. You can forge the blade from good steel then a larger diameter can be cut, and overall it’s not bad.
Good luck to everyone and to new homemade
