Many of you know how it is necessary to have the right set of power tools in your arsenal, which are difficult to do without when making homemade products. It will be about electric sharpening. You can assemble it yourself, and you do not have to buy it in a store, because it is not cheap.

Let's get down to business.

For this we need such materials and tools.

1 - electric motor 3-phase 200W 1500 rpm This is exactly what I applied. The flange on the shaft, I made it with a turner, a grindstone, a power cord with a plug, paper capacitors of the MBM type, with a total capacity of 20 microfarads to 400v, a case from an old military telephone, or any other, Tumbler TP-1/2, mounting wires.

2 - The necessary set of tools: hammer, screwdriver, nippers, drill, drill, M5 tap, pliers, soldering accessories, screws and nuts M3 and M5, self-tapping screws and washers for them, washer with an inner diameter of 5 mm and an external 35 mm.

Now we collect.

Step 1.

We fix the toggle switch on the phone case, wrap the three capacitors tightly with a film to isolate gas pipes, and melt the edge of the film with a soldering iron so that it holds firmly. I fix the capacitors with screws and nuts M3. Then, from above, I fix the engine itself with the help of screws and nuts M5, having drilled the holes previously planned for them.


Step 2 I solder the electric circuit of the motor. She is shown in the photo.

Step 3. From a conventional nail with a hammer and file I make a key for the motor shaft. With an electric drill, I drill a hole inside the shaft with a diameter of 4.8 mm, a depth of 10 mm.

Then I cut the thread in this hole with an M5 tap. I put a flange on the shaft, install a key in it.

I put a whetstone on the flange, then a washer and a nut that holds the stone. After all this, install a washer with a diameter of 35 mm at the end of the flange and screw the M5 screw into the motor shaft

Step 4 We plug the power cord into the outlet and check the operation of the electric motor. To attach an electric sharpener to a workbench, drill holes inside the case

Using washers and 51mm long screws, we attach it to the surface of the workbench.For the convenience of carrying or transporting emery, the power cord can be removed inside the case, it fits freely in it.
