Interesting chess pieces were made by a master from various types of fasteners.
To assemble such chess pieces, the following tools and materials are needed: threaded rods, washers, nuts, threaded inserts, epoxy glue, citric acid, varnish, paint, dremel, grinding disc, drilling machine, pliers.
Now we will analyze the assembly of each figure separately.
Pawn.
All hardware necessary for assembling figures is visible in photographs. Assembly is carried out on a threaded rod. For fixing, the author uses epoxy resin.
Rook.
Putting a boat together.
Horse.
To build a horse you need a hook.
Officer.
Collects an officer.
Queen.
King.
And finally the king. The king is also going, with the exception of the upper part. From above, in the center of the threaded rod, holes are drilled. A rivet crown is inserted into the holes.
Processing figures.
The figures are assembled and the master puts one set, overnight, in a solution of citric acid. The acid will corrode the protective coating of the hardware. Then the author rinses, dries and covers the figures with two layers of paint, and then with two layers of varnish. Thus it turned out two sets of figures, black and white.
