On my VW Tiguan there is such a function: with easy swinging without fixing under the steering switch, the turn signals turn on 3 times to, for example, indicate the start of overtaking. I really like the function, do not think about: "... do not forget to return the lever to the neutral position ..." after the maneuver. I bring to your attention the scheme of "comfortable turn signals" for the Opel Vectra B plus the addition of the emergency gear activation mode when reversing. In the future, I want to add a useful in my opinion function to turn on the emergency light during emergency braking along with brake lights. There is such a regime on Tiguan.

Opel is not as frisky as the VW Tiguan, so it seemed to me 3 blinks are not enough. And when you swing the lever turns to the left or right, they fire on their side 5 times. When you turn on the reverse, the emergency gang turns on, if you turn the lever of turns to the left or right when reversing, the emergency gates turn off and the left or right turn signal turns on, respectively, to indicate the direction of your movement in reverse.
Additionally, for the empty input of pin 6 of the microcontroller, the program has added the function to turn on the emergency light from the emergency braking sensor. Unfortunately, I have not yet implemented it due to the high cost of sensors and finished devices. Those that are currently selling me are not satisfied with the work algorithms. A solution based on Arduino using 3 coordinate accelerometer.
The device is designed specifically for the Opel Vectra B, it’s not universal, it may be pleasant to opelevodors, it has a small number of elements and is not difficult to connect.

I have a lot of transistors in SMD design, so I use them everywhere. The gate of the transistor is capacitive, it is quite possible to connect without a resistor on the gate from the microcontroller. Instead of field-effect transistors, you can use bipolar n-p-n instead of the n-type (for example, KT-503), p-n-p instead of the p-type (for example, KT-502), changing the switching circuit accordingly.

The power supply circuit from the ignition (indicated on the diagrams as terminal 15), the reverse signal in the left threshold of the driver wire white / black. The terminals marked A1-A2, B1-B2 in the diagram are connected to the gap of the wires coming from the steering column switch turns. We take the mass under a regular bolt on the body behind the dashboard or in any convenient place.
Installation is not difficult, unscrew the 3 screws that support the steering column cover from the bottom.

The steering column switch is held on 2 latches.
And this is the wiring harness that we need.
We are connected to the wire break from the switch. We connect, power, ground and reverse signal.
