DIY leather briefcase

In the article "Leather do-it-yourself traveler bag" the master showed us how to make a comfortable and stylish backpack. In this article, the author tells how he made a leather briefcase.

Tools and materials:
-Leather;
-Tool for working with skin (knives, awls, punches, etc.):
-Fittings (buckles, latches, buttons);
-Rule;
-A thread;
-Hammer;
-Glue;
-Office clips;

Step One: Leather Billets
First you need to cut the blanks for the portfolio. Master give all sizes in inches, but for convenience I converted them to centimeters:
-12.7 * 104.14 - the basis of the bag
-53.34 * 43.18 - valve
-30.48 * 43.8 - front patch
-25.4 * 43.8 - magazine pocket
-17.78 * 20.32 - patch pocket (you need two such blanks)
-2.54 * 106.68 - shoulder strap
-2.54 * 45.72 - belts for the portfolio valve (2 pcs.)
-2.54 * 27.94 - upper handle
-2.54 * 15.24 - handle mount (2 pcs.)
-2.54 * 12.7 - fastening belt rings (2 pcs.)
-2.54 * 10.16 - buckle mount (4 pcs.)

Step two: rounding corners and marking lines
To round the corners, the master uses a special template, but you can use any round object with a mug, glass, bubble. After marking, cuts off the corners of the workpieces. Now you can mark the line of the line.

Step Three: Edge and Belt
A special wooden tool processes the edges of the workpieces. Trims the edges of the buckle fixing straps. Punches holes in the belt.

Step Four: Buckles
Apply glue to the edges of belts. Threads the buckle. Glues edges of belts. Fastens buckles to pockets with rivets.

Step Five: Attaching Pockets
Now pockets need to be attached to a pocket for magazines. Marks where rivets fit. Punches holes. Glues pockets and sets rivets.

Now you need to break the line with a punch and sew with a thread.

Adhes the magazine pocket to the front cover.

Marks and flashes.

Step Six: Rings
Secures the ends of the ring to fasten the belt.

Seventh step: pad
Sticks a pad to the valve.

Step Eight: Belts and Handle
Fastens straps on the back of the briefcase.

Makes a pen.

Fastens the handle.

Step Nine: Assembling a Briefcase
Now it's time to sew all the parts of the portfolio.The master folds all the parts and fixes them with clerical clips, and then sews them together.

Now you need to process the edges.

The portfolio is ready, it remains to fasten the belt.
