In recent article this effect was considered by Igor Beletsky, but his device was too large. Alexander offers you a miniature version of such a lighter. For its manufacture does not require complex tools, and you can repeat it even in home conditions.

Manufacturing process.
The main structural elements will be a glass tube, and a welding electrode, the diameter of the base of which is slightly less than the inner diameter of the tube. If you do not need to see what is happening inside the tube, a metal one is also suitable.
Valves from ordinary gas lighters, or rather rubber rings from them, will also be needed.
Now you need to carefully break off a piece of tube about 80 mm long.
And then solder one edge of the tube.
Next, you need a piece of electrode 120 mm long. You must remove the coating from it.
Then the author recorded the workpiece in the chuck of a screwdriver and sanded it with sandpaper.
The next moment - on one edge of the bar it is required to make two slots for the ringlets.
On the second edge of the bar, the author bent a small ring.
In addition, a small hole must be drilled at the end of the stem. The ignited material will be placed in it.
From the valves from the lighters you will need to remove a couple of rubber rings.
Then he just puts them in their place.
So the lighter is ready. The fit of the rings is quite tight, and the compression is quite normal.
It remains to charge the tinder into the hole on the piston.
To set fire, simply push the piston in sharply. The air pressure inside the tube rises, and the temperature rises.
An experiment with dry material is almost always obtained the first time. You can even set fire to cotton wool, or a napkin.
