Any mechanic and master will have a large pile of junk material, which, if you think a little and reflect, can become a good tool or device to facilitate work and improve its quality.



Today we will try to make a collet clamp (chuck). It is very convenient. device for files, taps, saw blades, etc. etc.

This device is made two times, does not require great professional skills and is available to anyone, even a novice master.

And so, we need one bolt and one nut.
Of the tools - a hacksaw for metal or a cutting machine, a drill, a file, an emery cloth.

The manufacturing process (detailed in the video clip below):






1. We make two cuts of the bolt head.
2. Turn the bolt head under the cone.
3. We make another cut of the bolt by two or two and a half centimeters.
4. Turn the part of the nut under the cone.
5. We assemble the device.
6. We use it.

The material gives the very idea of ​​this collet clamp, and you are already adjusting the device yourself, relying on your imagination, skill and needs. I always considered the instrument to be an extension of my hands! Working with a good tool is much more pleasant, respectively, and the result is better (there are fewer mothers). It is extremely inconvenient to use this particular device.
