Manufacturing process.
So, for starters, the author marked the future slingshot handle on 13 mm plywood. He took the size of his elbow as the basis of its length.
Then he cut the workpiece with a jigsaw, and milled faces.
All holes are also milled.
Further, from a wooden bar, I made a handle.
Both parts of the slingshot stick together and are screwed together with self-tapping screws.
It remains to cover the product with acrylic varnish, and the handle is ready.
For traction gum, the author will use a silicone tube, two pieces of 230 mm are needed.
From kapron thread makes two turns around the fingers, and one tip passes into the ring. It turns out a simple knot "noose".
In one gum, he already missed a paracord with a knot at the end, and pulled it with a thread. Now repeats the same with the second rubber band. The ends of the tightened unit are cauterized by a lighter.
On the resulting design, he needs to make a start loop. Tie a knot in the form of a double loop.
After that, makes another loop, and cauterizes with a lighter.
Steel balls are suitable for fixing rubber bands in a slingshot. The author passes the gum through the holes in the handle, inserts a ball into the tube.
For the convenience of launching arrows, and higher accuracy, the master made this launch device. A clothesline is threaded and tied into a small hole.
The second end of the rope is attached to the bottom of the handle. To correctly determine the length of the rope, he fixes the handle in a vise, and puts the arrow perpendicular to the handle, almost its entire length. Next, we will explain why this is done.
The first tests showed that the arrowhead almost penetrates 13 mm plywood.Limits only the shape of the tip.
Now field tests. It's time to charge. Arrow shank clings to a paracord.
And here is the use of a launching device. It is enough to release the index finger, and the arrow will go to the target.
This will be the tail.
When pulling the elastic, the rope serves as a kind of emphasis for the lower part of the slingshot, and does not allow the arm to turn out.
