The thickest paper is called cardboard - almost every child knows that. But unlike ordinary paper, cardboard consists mainly of plant fibers of large thickness and weight. There are many classifications and, so to speak, boundaries along which the separation of concepts occurs. For example, in Germany cardboard is considered paper, which has a mass exceeding 150g per square meter.
Cardboard is widely used for making DIY crafts. This material has various properties:
- various thickness
- electrical insulating properties
- susceptibility to destruction when exposed to moisture
Modern industry produces a large number of types of cardboard that can satisfy any consumer needs. This material can be produced multilayer, which contributes to its widespread use as packaging. Cardboard can also be used for wall upholstery and the manufacture of billboards or sculptures made do it yourself. Rag, mixed, straw, printing, packaging, building - each type of cardboard is used in the modern world, despite the abundance of materials made of plastic and polyethylene.
