After reviewing the pictures on different sites, I decided on the size, there was material ... I remembered that somewhere in the garage wall-mounted scraps of stainless steel 8mm thick, ran to search - found.
The first step was to cut the main pieces (rectangles) that would be the planes of the hammer.
Cut, curved the edges to get the bevels of the hammer. Welded by conventional welding with conventional electrodes (although they don’t do this :)). I cut the remaining strips and also welded.
Then he cleaned the seams for a long time and re-welded and cleaned again - this is the reckoning for such welding, constantly bursting somewhere and holes remained. In the end, he brought to a satisfactory (for himself) state and it was time to make holes for the handle.
I tried to drill - it’s a disastrous thing. I decided to burn by welding. As a result, there are holes - scary but there are.
Handle. It's easier with her. I found a piece of pipe (also stainless) from the balcony pipe for drying clothes. I cut the desired length (taking into account the distance in the hammer itself), drew a picture and boiled it according to the drawing.
Next, you need to connect the hammer and the handle. I decided to do it with a 12mm stud. There should be a pancake hat on top of the hammer. Made from a large washer, weld a hole in the center and weld a 12 nut for the stud.
And the end of the handle was made of a forged product for the fence (sold everywhere else). Cutting off the "extra" parts resulted in a terminal. I welded a nut on it into 12, the second side turned out on a hairpin. Well, the strap was attached with another nut inside the terminal and bolt.
We collect. Done!
